There was an industrial accident at a Russian explosive factory that has resulted in six dead. According to news this happened when maintenance crew was welding a pipe and probably some chemical residue in the pipe blew up. Russian military industrial osha is brutal af.

Ok, well look. Just like how I'm not a submarine expert. And just like how I'm not an engineer, .. I am also not a jet fighter pilot. But, Was ejecting the right move there? Cause it kind looks like they could have tried a rapid shut down/cut power or whatever the analog is(starting at 0:14 of that vid), and still come out better than punching out (at 0:26) totalling out that bird, and compressing the poo poo out of their spine. (Reading the comments, if they're correct, seem to suggest computer error... and ejecting was only safe option. Hrmm. The Raptor debacle certainly lends credence to the idea.)
