To me it seemed far more like an editor (or whoever makes the decision now-a-days) saying “No you can’t just do an article about a terrible press release. Just do a round up of all the latest things like this.”

Still hilarious though.

This, they were likely just cramming it full of SEO keywords

I know we like to dunk on Travis because it's easy and fun for the whole family, but I can't really imagine going to any of them for DMing advice. No actual play really resembles the feeling of a kitchen table game but as far as the bigger shows go, they don't actually play that much.

I'd listen to Griffin talk about worldbuilding, as every time he's DMd he's done that pretty effectively and without much in the way of sledgehammer exposition. And honestly, I think Travis could get mileage out of "here's the stuff I did wrong, don't do any of these things". I'm personally enjoying Justin's DMing style but I'm struggling to say exactly why.

It's pretty loose and goes with the flow really well I'd say. Justin's basically just running it kind of like an improv thing, with the dice added to give it some structure as opposed to the game itself being the framework for the improv. Or at least that's how it feels to me

I think it works pretty well for their goof style, but as mentioned a few posts ago they're probably the least "game-like" of the major actual play podcast genre so I dunno if you'd get a lot out of paying for advice on that part

Two things I loved from this NC live show:
--The person who got conscripted into bee-counting as a cover for a date/hookup, and who had to be informed of such by the boys.
--The idea of Burger King (or potentially any fast food brand) putting out a Pornhub-style "here's the specific way in which each US state is nasty" infographic.

BUT MY LIVELIHOOD DEPENDS ON THE FORUMS!
I just had the horrible thought that Griffin had to intentionally lobby to be on the Forbes 30/30 list, based on some info on how other members have been included

Idk if that revelation would make it worse and sully the already erstwhile and ironic prestige, or way way better as a stunt, ie like getting into Trolls 2

Actually—I think that if I found out that the McElroys intentionally submitted Grif for the list then it would make it a million times better and funnier than if some dork Forbes contributor were simply a big fan

Between the neverending munch squads and wikihow not really being funny to me (rip yahoo answers) and probably some mix of other stuff I stopped listening to the show 2 or 3 months ago. It wasn't a conscious decision, one day I just realized I had a bunch of back episodes and no real interest in putting them on

I know a lot of long-running shows can have rough streaks, so maybe it's that, or maybe it's just a me problem. Whatever this "sound bath" thing is has really piqued my curiosity though with that reputation lol
