Yeah it rules, I've been loosely sticking to 2 physical + 1 magic + 1 flex/support character but I'll probably run the physical gang up the Red Mage tree when I get a chance.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC was really, really good and I loved all the tweaks it was making and then it barfed 6 people onto my roster and has different potential combo enders and the gems came back and just stop adding stuff. Still better than the base game, as is tradition I guess.

Story is still not working for me, at all.

Does complete disagreement with the protagonists taste in women count, cause Ryudo's romantic choice from Grandia 2 was the first time I remember thinking the wrong woman won a love triangle.

My small child brain had a crush on Ayla from Chrono Trigger cause she pins you (Crono) to a wall and blows hearts all over. That and it was time of being a kid where I'd rename everyone in RPGs that let you after people I knew and inevitably some girls were named after ones I had real life crushes on.

A more normal answer is probably Yuffie from FF7. :v:

Mine was Ursula from Fire Emblem 7. Mind you, I never got too far into that game as a kid and had to finish it off later.

Just finished off Epic Battle Fantasy 4. Pretty good game, I nearly wiped on the final boss twice on the same phase (one of skull obelisks can use an AoE instant death attack when charged up, second one came from the destroyer throwing poison attacks at me from nowhere) but I had a lot of fun with it overall. I don't think I'm going for 100% but I am considering starting the next game.

After being one of the people making fun of the original when it came up here, enough people who have opinions I trust sold me on Fear and Hunger 2 and I spent the past few days playing like 14 hours of it. It seems less uh. extreme as the first game which was why I never played the OG or gave it a second look. But the sequel has about the same content as you'd find in Berserk and far less sex assault peril or w/e which at least from how people talked about it seemed to be a big part of the first game?

Either way, it is a fascinating game and I can see why it has overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam, definitely going to join the ranks of iconic RPGmaker horror games for years to come. It's like a puzzle and with how limited saving is and how many events are exclusive with eachother or have very specific triggers it makes experimentation very satisfying and rewarding.

It does the whole "painful" combat stuff a million times better than LISA, which was just a lovely rpgmaker combat system where here every round feels like life or death and getting those lucky hits off to dismember the enemy before they do an insta kill attack or w/e is extremely satisfying. The premise being like Silent hill meets Battle Royale was also something that really drew me to it and it didn't disappoint on that front.

There is a content warning when you boot up the game and I would say it is definitely warranted but nothing felt like it existed just to be shocking, and I never got the impression that there was anything weird in there meant for the dev to jack off to while making it. Got almost to the end on my latest attempt but stalled out as I hosed up too many sigils and had no way of getting the arms back for some of my party. RIP.

From what I've seen yeah. Like its a "miserable" game but you don't feel helpless or in peril the same way. The environments and stuff I think help with that. Those vibes are absolutely what made me never wanna touch the OG game but I've played a shitload of this one so..I guess they succeeded?

there are alot of dicks still though

I don’t know what happens exactly but I have a weird sort of recollection that this ended up being funnier than if you just named Aerith “[girlfriend]” for some reason.

iirc she ultimately falls for the Bahamut Lagoon equivalent of General Leo, who in BL survives and defects to the protagonists' army, instead of the player character
