It's hard to feel one way or the other about this because the local shipyard has literally specialised in building the largest cruise ship in the world for a couple of decades. Yes of course this is bigger than the last one but that was also bigger than the one before it. Dunno if they can make one much bigger than this because the pool is only so big.

If you don't care about the ship going through either the Panama or Suez canal, then the upper limits on ships' sizes really just becomes a structural materials question, and we're always getting better and better at that.

Most shipyards don't build the boat in the drydocks, you build the water tight portions of the boat on a huge slipway, whack it with a bottle of bubbly, push it into the sea, then tow it to a regular dock with cranes to do all the rest of the work on it. With cruise ships being hugely modular, they can put them together surprisingly fast for what basically becomes an aircraft carrier sized floating city.
