I think it would be keen if we didnt discuss that thread in depth in this thread while there are plenty of threads in SAD and at least one in GBS if you so choose for the topic. I think any discussion outside of those specific venues is only going to accelerate the competing team mentalities.

Edit: Instead talk about that great ad vvvvv

God I let the kids choose a movie to watch tonight and they chose “The Conjuring 2” and this is one of the worst goddamned movies I’ve ever watched that I haven’t just walked out of.

I still get a kick out of how Robocop went from the verhoeven film to like 3 cartoons, a pro-cop live action tv series, video games, and action figures

Also the fatal farm segment of Our Robocop Movie is also hilarious

I saw the first one at a drive-in and I thought it was fine but the idea of making a Cinematic Universe based on a couple of real life con artists is pretty lol

The first one was fine. It wasn’t scary or groundbreaking but it was interesting and had some cool cinematography. This one is dull as dogshit and the story is just a hot mess.

if you're going back that far to introduce kids to horror, the first gremlins movie might also be good for that.

Amityville horror was their claim to fame and they swore for years it was a true story. They also made a bunch of money fearmongering with right wing evangelist weirdos in the 80s and 90s:

I think it was Ghost I watched when I was a kid that has a scene where a dude gets impaled by a gigantic shard of glass. As soon as they showed the dude look up, showed the glass, I knew what was coming and went to "Check out the Christmas tree" for a couple minutes until I heard the gurgles and then came back.

In retrospect, that was probably a weird selection for Family Movie Day during Christmas break....

At a sleepover one time we decided to watch Brave Little Toaster, and my friend got so scared of the scene where Blanky gets blown away (I think it was something like that, I don't actually remember) that he hid under the covers and refused to watch

And I was like, "Dude, you can't be scared of this.. you know Martial Arts!" cos he was taking some 7 year old baby karate course
