I think the war should end immediately tbqh. Putin should pack it up and head back to the pre-2014 borders. If he refuses to do that, well, Ukraine and the West should defend themselves to the fullest and push him back.

Being a leftist against war is entirely principled, guys. Chill. The problem is this has been repeatedly framed by Putin and the Russia commentariat as a war to destroy Ukranian nation, culture and language since they're nothing but deluded Russians. That and the endless parade of war-criming and actual acts of genocide (like kidnapping children from occupied Ukraine and sending them back to Russia to 'russianize' them), mass murder and torture of civilians... ... has made most of the leftists here on SA accept that helping Ukraine defend itself against Putin's war of genocidal aggression is a moral imperative. The others who have decided this is all the fault of the USA basically post in C-SPAM where they await the forthcoming Russian victory over the Ukranian nazis. It's a lot to absorb, and there's tons of additional facts to fit into the overall framework, but that's basically it. People outside CSPAM think the rest of the world should support Ukraine. There's Ukraine threads at least in GBS, D&D and GiP as well as CSPAM. You should find out where you feel at home!
