Kiho is kyujo from today. Far as I can tell from translated reports it's a broken left big toe, and a re-aggravated ankle/metatarsal injury from April. Not sure how long the recovery will be.

He's not necessarily intai, but given his age it's not impossible he will be soon. One of the things I love about sumo is that there are weird little avenues for people like him, who topped out at Mk 55, to still be heralded as paragons. First of all, impressive to still be fighting at 46. Plus, he's been twirling the bow for 10 years, and looks great doing it. Also impressive that Isegahama has been able field yokozuna long enough for Satonofuji to do the ceremony for so long. I hope he can open a killer chanko restaurant when he finally retires.
