Not playing anywhere near me

I'm seeing at least Barbie and Oppenheimer tomorrow (depending on the time I arrive I might also go for Mission Impossible, Insidious and/or No Hard Feelings. I preordered the Barbie and Oppenheimer tickets a month ago, so excited for both and I got a double-feature shirt today :getin:), and I'm thinking about seeing Cobweb either later in the weekend, or sometime next weekend as a double feature with Talk To Me

Which Oppenheimer? The 70mm, the IMAX/XD or the standard?

Standard. The IMAX closest to me is further away (this theater's 15 minutes, the IMAX is 30-40 depending on traffic) and playing MI tomorrow/Oppenheimer Friday, and nobody's playing it in 70mm closer than 2.5 hours from me :rip:

completely different thought: my sister is in training to become a child protective worker, a job I did for a few years a quarter of my lifetime ago. I know there’s Case 39 and Daylight (2013) (bad movie!); which other horror movies are about social services workers?

His House (2020) features social work pretty prominently, and is a pretty great movie!

I kinda liked that some of the visuals in that tweet. Idk if it could make a good movie. It would have to be some kind of found footage doc or something for it to work imO

On one hand, I love evil kid movies (including ghost kids) but the words 'Buzzfeed Studios' were honestly the most chilling part of the trailer.

I ain't saying don't see it, especially because at some point when it comes to VOD I probably will try too :rubby:

I will absolutely judge you negatively though if you think that's even the second or third best option to look forward to of the month that will also have:

Killers of the Flower Moon
Saw X
The Exorcist: Believer
Five Nights at Freddy's
Pet Sematary: Bloodlines

Hrmm is Pet Sematary the best overall song for a horror movie?

Criteria : It contains the name of the movie in the song or it goes over the plot of the movie in the song.

It's a strong contender but Dream Warriors by Dokken is the best

Nothing's better than postin' in the morning!

He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask) and, if it counts, the titular song from Little Shop of Horrors would like to have a word...and while I can't in good conscience pick The Maniac Cop Rap it is hilarious.

I'd love to nominate a song from Phantom of the Paradise but I struggle to settle on a single song from it that fits the criteria, though every one of them is incredible. The Hell Of It is so good.

Wait, what am I saying? The My Bloody Valentine credits theme! That's gotta be the best one.

Horror movies have gone downhill since they stopped putting absolute bangers recapping the movie over the end credits.

Similarly, the 2020 version of The Turning sorta sucked but the music over the end credits was cooler than the entire rest of the movie.
