It’s not like the series has ever had particularly great posters or home release covers to begin with.

Showdown in the Galaxy Era.

No, but I don’t see why they need to bother. A black background with the green text cascade is already an iconic “minimalist” visual from the film. That seems like it should be enough for whatever prestige fan marketing this edition is trying to target.

And it's been the cover for a bunch of editions already and worked perfectly well. I had the first full-trilogy-plus-animatrix-and-extras DVD set, that came in a nice box cover that had nothing but the text waterfall.

It's a twofold thing where studios feel the need to have unique art for a release to distinguish it from earlier releases, but also they don't want to pay a lot of money for new art.

Some people just need to stick to what they are good at

Danny is great in comedy stuff, he's a natural, but everything else has been a shrug at best

I thought DGG's first Halloween was fine, tied with or maybe slightly better than Halloween 2. His second movie made me mad with how lovely it was, just ruined my night. Reminded me of something another goon said (about his third Halloween, incidentally), I felt like I had just gotten in an argument with a friend. I thought the third one was stupid and insane enough that I kind of admired it.
