Unfortunately, ‘Fluke Skywalker’ allegedly possessed child porn ‘too graphic and fantasy fueled’ for prosecutors to discuss in court. It's not Ohio being up its own rear end this time.

That’s not all the prosecutor said so if you feel that that’s a questionable thing to say alone then feel free to not read what details are there.

By taking that quote out of context it can make it appear that the prosecutor is saying “I totally have evidence but I can’t show it, trust me bro” and that is not the case.

I mean... "allegedly" is right there in the quote. Is not the purpose of "allegedly" that it's not yet proven evidence?

News is prone to overusing allegedly out of fear of being sued for saying a thing is true.

The quote itself specifically calls out the media as the reason for not showing the evidence, which may have biased the writers a little as well

Importantly, most of the main characters of the show aren't the same people they started as. For a funny cartoon, there's a lot of continuity and development.

There are definitely some forgettable episodes and jokes/verbiage from 20 years ago that do not land as well today, but ultimately the story grows beyond all of that. By season three, almost everything is in place and they hit their stride in season four.

I think it's trending there because there are a whole lot of Barbie fans? The only standout state I see where it makes sense that one is trending way, way harder is New Mexico for Oppenheimer.

Some Shapiro weirdos hate-watching isn't going to generate sales that large. And maybe residents of Louisiana and Mississippi aren't as hot to go watch a 3 hour long movie about Oppenheimer.

Problems look mighty small from 150 miles up.

If my packed showing was anything to go by, Barbie's got a combo of legit fans and successful viral marketing going for it, there were a ton of pink-clad Millennials and Gen Zs having a good time throughout it.

Definitely designed to hit every one of the chud crowd's buttons, and a surprisingly introspective look at feminism, masculinity, self-purpose, and how pop culture impacts how we conceptualize society for something that would otherwise be yet another IP cash grab.

According to the very scientific measurement of my sister telling me, Barbie is all anyone is talking about at work. She's a nurse and it's basically the hit of the summer according to her friends.

Apparently Barbie's opening day was the biggest opening day of any movie this year so far, with $70.5M in ticket sales on the 21st. Oppenheimer only did $33M.

Woke has apparently morphed into "anything I don't like because I resent not being able to say the words I was able to back in the day"

It will be hilarious watching Critical Drinker try to explain that Barbie is a flop when it's on track to obliterate some of the movies in the MCU for box office takes.

The reason movies fail is not "they embraced wokeism" whatever the gently caress that is, it's that the movies sucked and nobody went to see them. Barbie is a loving great movie with really good takes on a lot of poo poo in society that sucks, and it's absolutely worth seeing.

I saw some tweet the other day that argued that Mad Mad: Fury Road, arguably one of the loving best films ever made, let alone best action films, would face a stiff headwind today because the male lead is largely along the ride while the badass woman lead largely sets all of the events in the film in motion and drives where the action goes.

Not a problem, sir

We did a watch of Oppenheimer, then Barbie. Both are good, I felt Barbie was better at what it did. Both kind of dragged towards the end, but Barbie stuck the landing in the last moment.

We saw people saying how Woke the Mario Movie was before it dropped, when it was expected to flop.

When it made bank, those same people, not even a week later, declared it anti-woke, and it's success showed how Hollywood is stupid for continuing to push the Woke Agenda.

These fucks have zero conviction, Woke is just a buzzword for 'thing I don't like' with a caveat that it has to be a failure. If it succeeds, then clearly it wasn't woke.

Honestly, to each their own, but Barbie was the perfect palate cleanser after Oppenheimer.

Also, (Oppenheimer spoilers) My friends and I were all laughing at the JFK name drop because it was so reminiscent of when Jim Gordon tells Batman about the Joker in Batman Begins. Like zero reason to do it other than "name drop!"

Oh, they did it back in 2015 too.

It’s obviously a lot more prevalent now, in fact it’s their entire mission statement today. And they weren’t using the term “woke” as a negative back then. Nor “cuck” I guess.

But many proto-chuds complained plenty during summer of 2015 about Fury Road, because Max seemed to be a supporting character in his own movie, and the movie seemed to be more about Furiosa. I remember this vividly and had a couple of RL arguments with friends about it.

This wailing and gnashing of teeth really intensified a few months later when The Force Awakens came out, with a woman as protagonist.

In fact I think you can say these two 2015 movies were really the genesis of this particular item on their list of grievances.
