I'll never get tired of the one-off villains Doc Hammer & Jackson Publick come up with. Perfect send-off given the time constraints, time to rewatch the entire series.

The early seasons, being 20 years old, were released originally on DVD and weren't mastered at Blu ray resolution and it would have cost money to remaster them. Also it costs slightly more per disk to make Blu rays than dvds due to licensing from the Blu Ray Disk Association.

I *knew* they had something planned with Jonas, even for a show which loves anti-climax as Venture Bros that was just far too good a thread to leave alone

Don't need a holster if you never stop shooting.

Watched last night and thought it was pretty great. Really wish they'd had more time to flesh things out, because the first half hour did seem a little infodumpy. Some of the comedy banter seemed shoehorned in but maybe that's just because I'm in my 30s now and can't let things go as easily. Everything in the 3rd act was gold and just made me wish they'd had even another 30 minutes to expand on some of their ideas.

I called the Bobbi-Debbie relationship before the reveal because they served the same drink. The attention to detail in this show is always v. sick

You're right. Also is an aerial shot of the venture compound in Colorado and you can see that's where the building is falling toward when they briefly give an overhead shot. This board really has a bunch of great stuff.

I did like the movie reaffirming that Rusty should stick to biology as that seems to be his forte. Being able to make random invisibility into something that can be shared so easily is a hell of a trick.

Dr. Orpheus indicated that soul transmigration is happening, but on the other hand, both boys have lost the equivalent of years' worth of memories, some of them important.

They'd lose however long it had been since they were last in their beds, which is usually just hours or maybe days. The years gap between their current age and what age they should be is caused by Doc procrastinating in rebooting them every time (the great sequence at the start of Season 2 where Brock has to hunt Doc across the globe and drag him back kicking and screaming).

There have been a couple implications that Hank can remember his previous deaths as well.

Good finale overall. If it had been a whole season I think we would have gotten more concluding character moments with the side people like billy and white or brock. But hey, there's plenty of reason to keep hope alive that there will be more venture bros far into the future. Twin Peaks coming back when everybody everywhere was sure it was dead and gone forever has given me hope that anything with a cult following can come back some day.

Also, at the post-credits scene I was sure that an artificial womb was going to be on helper and kind of explain why it's always acted so emotionally towards the family. But having rusty be the one was great too.

Tons of random thoughts but i'll ask you guys: is it possible they were trying to soften the image of Jonas a little bit? like, he's still a prick, but Ben kind of frames Malcolm was a result of Jonas wanting to genuinely help Morpho and his wife have a kid and maybe didn't have sex with her after all? I could see it still being him just abandoning another clone/doing things to satiate Morpho to keep him under control. And I guess the watch too? Like he wasn't a good father, but at least maybe had the right idea about family? I could see all of the spoiled stuff could also not be even remotely enough to change what we already know and might already think though.

I noticed that too and it seemed like originally it was Jonas using his own dna for the embryo, so at best it was huge violation done in secret or having sex with her as a part of the deal at worst. Either way, that would make Jonas a sex criminal in my eyes, so maybe it was a step too far in making him a piece of poo poo. I'm glad it was rolled back to just giving them a child to adopt, but it also doesn't really make sense because - couldn't they have just adopted a child without Jonas' help?

They discuss in the commentaries that if they had season 8, Hank was going to be traveling the entire season. One episode was going to focus on the various personas that had been following him and show that they were indeed dead hanks effectively haunting and forever tormenting him.

The current boys are 3 years younger than they should be. They were woke up on their sixteenth birthday which should have been their 19th. I think the implication has always been that he didn't have clones ready to go when the boys first died. All of the slugs were started then. I don't think he ever made a new batch of slugs.

Oh yeah, that would explain the gap as well.

It's, I think, a small negative side effect to the show being so singularly of the minds of Jackson and Doc that there are a few points where they probably think they've explained it perfectly well and most of the audience does not get it at all.

Haven't rewatched, so maybe it'll jump out at me, but I take it the reason Monarch hates Rusty is

really that he thought Rusty slept with Debbie. Despite him playing it off with 24, it's the first thing he confronts Rusty about in the elevator. Or maybe we're supposed to take it that they're just so much alike being clones that hatred is the only natural conclusion.

They Monarch specifically says that's not the reason that he hates Venture and on a list it would be like #100.

Yeah, I took it as he was downplaying it for 24, but then when he gets to talk to Rusty it's the only thing he mentions.

Or maybe you can take it as he doesn't know himself why and he doesn't want to admit the possibility it's that simple.

I don't think thats it because the Debbie thing happened after college but the Monarch has been previously shown to hate Rusty during their college years and was unofficially arching him even back then.

We know from the pictures we've seen that the Monarch knew Rusty even when they were kids (or at least, he knew a Rusty; it seems highly probable that Rusty got replaced several times since then. Either way, even though neither of them remember it, the Monarch was been exposed to Rusty long enough to have been annoyed by him since long before Movie Night.
