So the boys not having a natural mother makes complete sense in universe, but it also raises the mystery of why did Doc create them? It seems very out of character for him.

The man was raised by an unloving father. It makes sense that he'd seek loving familial relationships in alternative ways.

Timelines aren't perfectly known, but when he's wearing the artificial womb he still has a ponytail, like he had in college, and is living at the Venture compound. Seems to me like he's recently moved back there after his father's death, probably feeling very alone and wondering about his realistic prospects for a family in the future. It's not directly referenced or anything, but he looks about the same as when he returns to Spanakos for the first time as an adult, probably reflecting on his own childhood and whatever actually happy memories he can recall.

It's not in line with his day-to-day personality traits, but I think it works as the series' ultimate reveal: he had the boys on purpose, out of a sense of love, albeit a warped one due to his own childhood. I think he recognizes that Jonas was majorly messed up, and is obviously traumatized by being forced into the adventuring lifestyle, but he does seem to still remember his dad with some affection.

Dermott would be younger than the original bros by a couple years because he's the same age as the final clones plus that three-ish year clone gap

I apparently ordered the Blu-ray twice: once from Target, and once from Amazon. Oops.

I believe what happened was this: when I went looking, Amazon didn't have the Blu-ray available for preorder. But, Target did. So, I bought it from them. At some point, perhaps during a night when I'd had a few too many drinks, I forgot about that and ordered it from Amazon.

... and no, looking it up, I just ordered it twice, looks like. I got it at Target on June 8th, and I placed the Amazon order on June 28th. Both were weekdays, so I wasn't drinking.

They discuss in the commentaries that if they had season 8, Hank was going to be traveling the entire season. One episode was going to focus on the various personas that had been following him and show that they were indeed dead hanks effectively haunting and forever tormenting him.

It's like he channels dead crazy people.

I think it started a bit earlier:

A fun "episode" and a decent finale, but my concerns that the show felt incredibly dated were only confirmed by the final event in the VB timeline being a character saying "pwned". It's good that we got a decent amount of closure, I don't think there's any need to wring the Venture Bros out any further.

On the other hand, didn't he tell Dean that "You have a mommy, and your dad is your dad. They made you by getting drunk and forgetting to wear a condom, like everybody else?"

So he wasn't always 100% right. But I guess even The Monarch thought Rusty and Debbie did the deed, so for whatever reason everyone involved must have kept it REALLY quiet. Makes sense enough in-universe, but I think it's the most Doc and Jackson ever went back on retconning hints or information.

Actually, I wonder who all really does know. Does Debbie actually know what Doc was doing with the eggs? Does Brock know?

Brock wasn’t his body guard at the time. He may not have had one at all when he was carrying the boys. We actually have never been told about a body guard prior to Myra and she wasn’t there yet, either.

My guess is Rusty never really told anyone who the boys mother was, and Ben just filled in the blanks.

I can imagine everyone kept a lid on it because they did the same thing with Hank and Rusty both having sex with Nikki. Everyone thinking Rusty and Jonas Sr. both had sex with Bobbi would probably cause everyone to have a similar reaction

The Q&A Commentary is great so far, and I'm not even ten minutes in. One thing they confirmed is that The Investors and Killinger are in fact the same entities that the Greeks considered gods of the wind. Killinger had to dispatch them because they were directly meddling in the affairs of mortals instead of merely guiding them to their truer selves.

I can't speak for Amazon Video. On the iTunes extras there are two commentary tracks (one talking about the movie one answering the instagram submitted questions), a special interview by Jon Hodgeman of Doc and Jackson, and a gallery of stills from the movie.

Check to see if there are any alternate audio options. It might be in there.

I SAID WE'RE NOT GONNA BE FUCKING SUCK THIS YEAR!!!

Loved it, still wish we could get more. There was just enough that I wished was in here that kinda had to be left behind for most of the side characters (even Brock) due to I'm sure the budget and general run time.

It was and amazing episode with enough finale feels, guess I'm greedy for wishing it was like twice as long.

They certainly left the door open to revisit it.

So during the final scene between The Monarch and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch I kind of wish she said something along the lines of I will always support you and your arching of Dr. Venture but please take a deep breath and think before launching yourself into something crazy.

All we do is walk around believing birds!
So something's been bugging me about ARCH

It just doesn't seem to add up to me. So Debbie is obsessed with Sheila, and decides the solution is to breakup the Monarchs by getting rid of R22 and usurping the Guild members. Do I have that right? And she does this by creating a fake alt-Guild with tech beyond OSI/Guild typical levels from ... ? Old connections from her father? That's the biggest question mark I have about the whole movie. So she then starts poaching Guild people, which antagonizes both the Guild and OSI to the point they're ready to hunt her down and kill her. But it's all made up and doesn't really exist, a ruse orchestrated from her lovely apartment with like the 25 acolytes you ever see at one time, and the one hovertank that's like being ride shared. (what happened to Brick Frog and the other deserters?) So what's Debbie's plan here, what's her end game, because it looks like she doesn't have one at all.

Debbie then stages a meeting with R22 and Gary. He signs up so she can double cross him, and somehow finds out about the helperpod speakers either when the designs change and before Rusty knows or right at the moment they figure out the problem, and decides that will make an adequate trap. OK, I can buy that. So she frames Sheila next, but what does that accomplish? Now the Guild/OSI will kill Sheila instead of her? But she wants to save Sheila, with the phone she allowed to be captured and just happened to be given to her or was that all accidents?

And then when confronted with this mess, she throws away the fake ARCH company and tech so she can be a 'real supervillain' (she wasn't already?) and join the PP in CA, having failed to accomplish the one thing she was obsessed about for decades on a literal whim. (Does the OSI have jurisdictional problems with the PP and canada or won't they notice immediately?)

I haven't listened to the commentary yet because I wanted to ruminate on this all a few days before rewatching for things I might have missed and try to work it out on my own, but I can't seem to make it fit.
