Google was already pushing their manifest v3 which would've limited the control/access afforded to extensions, kneecapping adblockers. It got pushed back, but I'm not sure if it has an actual date yet. I switched back to Firefox shortly after manifest v3 was announced.

She also sounds like she's never worked in a tech company where people are protective of their jobs. Yeah, it would be nice if everybody worked together and had a holistic view...but that's not good for job security, and in the end that's the only thing that really matters.

I'm sure she might feel it now being unemployed as well, but it's gobsmacking how naive some of these tech types really are.

Yeah I thought that was already active but my ad blocker was still working. I guess I know why

Elon is a idiot and a average person desperate to look "geek".

Repetition use to be a key for "geek humor". People would cite monty python lines again and again. Supposedly the humor comes from the repetition, the more you repeat it, the more fun it is.

Kinda like memes, or lines like "thats what she said". Geek humor is full of in-jokes and things people repeat until they are funny, and Elon is a disgrace to the tech world.

Exactly as it says. Not content with giving twenty grand to a rapist and sex trafficker last week, Musk personally reversed the ban of some chud that posted images of CSA, saying that simply removing the post was sufficient punishment.

He also said people on an internal team were the only people who saw it, in spite of it just being up on twitter for several days, from what I've heard. Even if that was true, imagine voluntarily (and eagerly) reinstating someone who posted CSA. Not sure of any of the other details.

I don't understand why I can't harass people online. Seriously, somebody please explain why I shouldn't be allowed to stalk others on social media!
The thing that sucks about that google web drm thing is that all google basically has to do is implement it on their websites. They could require google.com, YouTube.com, and gmail.com (and all the subdomains like docs.Google.com) to load if and only if the browser loading the page supports the new drm feature.

So apple via safari could say “lol we’re not gonna implement that” and Mozilla via Firefox can say “lol not us either” but it won’t matter because literally every single person uses google or YouTube or gmail. And if those people complain that they can’t load their gmails or watch their videos then they’re just going to download and use chrome.

It will end up forcing apple and Mozilla to implement compatibility, because people aren’t going to give up on google/youtube/gmail.

Unless the courts step in but lmao fat chance of that happening.

tbh i have faith that because this is the internet someone somewhere will come up with an easy way to defeat whatever it is they implement. i mean piracy is even easier than it ever was despite decades of companies trying to fight it or come up with different types of drm

If someone has a great sense of humor because they tell great stories and jokes, but they tell the same ones over and over again, they do not have a great sense of humour

They have rehearsed a tight five enough to come across as likeable and should be regarded with suspicion. I would prefer someone who has little in the way of a sense of humor than someone who has to fake it, especially because they are the kind of people to become extremely pissy as soon as someone else comes across as funnier

That post was extremely 'read between the lines'. She only said 'he has a great sense of humor' so it wasn't immediately obvious by saying he repeats the same jokes and stories that she loving hates the guy and thinks he's annoying as poo poo.

e;

Like man there are so many contradictory statements in that essay it's clear she really, really does not like the guy. But recognizes he's still rich as poo poo and somehow influential, so it does her no good to be openly badmouthing him.

Those Krassenstein cunts are insufferable. It's like they're on standby 24/7 to explain how "ackshually when Elon stepped in dog crap and wiped it on his face, it was a commentary on man's inhumanity to man, and is actually genius when you think about it, which we didn't because we were too busy kneejerk running interference for our Lord, and for impressions"

It must suck having absolutely no soul or scruples whatsoever.
