drat those Shout Factory October releases completely changed the Halloween season outlook. The Blob and and Pumpkinhead are no brainers. The Blob is one of those movies where a proper blu wasn't really on the market until a few years ago and I never got around to adding it to my collection. So a UHD is probably gonna knock my socks off.

Gorgo is not a good movie but there's a sequence where fishermen go out in little boats at night to try to catch Gorgo that looks great in the lovely Internet Archiver version I watched, I assume it looks fantastic at 4k

I've had a lot of luck selling stuff on SA-Mart. If you want absolute top dollar you may want to take it to eBay but IMO it's kind of a hassle. When I was still on Facebook I also sold stuff through private buy/sell groups for physical collectors and that always went well too.

If it makes you feel any better, a significant percentage of those purchasers were speculators who are planning to sell it to you on eBay for 2-4x face value. There's also some copies flitting their way to Chinese bootleggers to produce many extra copies.

Shout! I suspect doesn't mind this dubious position they occupy, as it moves units and that's all that matter$

For VS I got Cardona Collection 2, Amazon Jail double feature, Dream Life, Give Me Pity, Heroic Times, the Conceicao set, the Moritsugu set, Vengeance is Mine and the Tower/Monument double feature. Everything's a blind buy except Give Me Pity, I saw that for Fantastic Fest last year and loved it; surreal horror-comedy musical staged as a TV special that's supposed to be the performer's big break

For Terror-Vision I'm getting Malum and When The Screaming Starts, both of which I really liked, and thinking about blind-buying End of the Line which looks interesting

I knew not going hard on the Criterion sale was gonna gently caress me :negative: Stop releasing things please, this is the only way I can be trusted

It’s a big step back from the original. Still enjoyable, but a dumb sequel that rewrites a lot of what happened in the first movie.

I watched it on Prime a few years ago and something glitched out so it wouldn’t start back up about half an hour from the end. I got an error message when I tried restarting it a few times, even after power cycling the tv. At the time there was no plot summary on the Wikipedia article so I just got left hanging. Then a couple of days later it started working again.

The first movie was one of several my parents had taped off of HBO. Along with Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future, and Beverly Hills Cop II. Got in trouble for putting that last one on when my brother was 8 or so, and dad walked in on Eddie Murphy asking “How the gently caress can you steal a house?” A few years later we had a similar incident with the naked fight scene from Borat. They also had On Golden Pond which I was way too young to really get at 7ish, but is kind of burned into my mind.
