Rizzo is a notoriously streaky hitter who will occasionally go months without being able to hit a baseball and it's clear he's in one of those funks right now. A lot of people want to blame the chronic back issues particularly now that he's into his 30's, but I honestly think it's just Rizzo being Rizzo and there's a decent chance come August/September the pendulum will swing the other way and he'll be back to a .900 OPS guy.

The Mets collapse is just so loving weird to me. It’s like a guy building this completely min-maxed team of all-stars in The Show or Super Mega Baseball without bothering to step back and think if it made sense as a cohesive team.
