  When Gorou says he's at the end of his rope here, the Japanese word he uses is ヤケクソ, yakekuso. It means to be desperate, and when written with kanji as 自棄糞 it has the reading of "self-abandoning excrement". I'm by no means an expert, but in researching this word I found that besides expressing frustration it also conjures the image of being burned in a fire. It means to be so totally consumed by despair that one acts self-destructively and violently.
