Okay, I need a top four D to play with Fox. After having a low-key excellent 48 games in Montreal, I am going to take Mike Matheson. He has shown some improvement over the years and then jumped into playing over 24 minutes a game for a bad team and was quite solid. This rounds off a top 4 that is signed for a long time (once Slavin gets his new deal in two years). Ok I’m going to take a unsigned free agent (based on our start date) as my next pick. Technically he is signed to Ottawa now on a pretty team friendly one year deal, I think he’s pretty great value for a team trying to win this year. The Bulldogs select Vlad Tarasenko, UFA. Lineup to come after my next pick.

I'm gonna get a little wild here and go with the reigning AHL MVP Dustin Wolf. First goalie since 2004 to win it, youngest player since Jason Spezza to win it and has dominated every level of hockey he has played at for the last 6 years (including the past two in the AHL). Calgary makes the playoffs last year with this kid in net. Like seriously, check out these save % numbers: The problem? He's small. Like that 6'0 on his player card is very generous, small.
