Name Change posted:how to optimize that sweet spot of DPS and survivability. I feel like this is a hard balance to hit, just because the allure of ALL DAMAGE ALL THE TIME is so strong. Like I was able to roll some chest armor with 4 different useful +damage affixes and nothing defensive and immediately switched without a thought. Guess I'm just more fragile now! (if anything survives)

Can't decide if I should try to stick it out and hopefully get better gear (WT3 hasn't dropped real upgrades for us in awhile) or knock the difficulty down to finish renown in between doing nightmare dungeons. your best options are: -do WT3 helltides, ride to the mystery chest and switch to WT4 to open. -leach off WT4 legion events -leach off WT4 world bosses you can farm WT4 strongholds for XP but they can't drop sacreds or ancestrals.

Fwiw as you get further along the paragon board damage affixes on chest armor are increasingly a noob trap/indicator of how bad this game communicates what anything does. Having +1230% damage instead of +1200% is a lot less impactful than having 50% damage reduction instead of 30%. It’s part of why the itemization is bad in the end game: every build wants the same stuff from items because most damage affixes are additive with each other and there’s a lot of them available on the paragon boards. Meanwhile while there aren’t nearly as many damage reduction options. Losing 1/3 of one’s potential effective HP to do 3% more damage is not a trade off anyone would choose to make if they understood that’s what was happening. Realistically the only damage affix you should consider on chest armor/pants for late game is +skill ranks to your primary damage dealer. Umbral + quicksand aspects is when pulverize really takes off. I'm a werewolf throwing tornados with a barber heart now though. Eat that several million damage Varshan.

is barber still considered the best option for infimist necro? ive seen much smarter players than me say it still is best in slot despite the counter synergies but the damage over time wrathful is super powerful when you get the lidless well into the build. ive been trying to get a rogue to 60 to get a few exploit barbers before the patch to experiment with just because my luck has been awful trying to farm them without it but im not even sure its worth it e: I'm starting to get annoyed at this weird nightmare dungeon bug where the glyph pedestal doesn't appear. It's another (x) damage multiplier. I killed t4 varshan at 70 with a friend who was level 50 so he had more hp than normal and my friend did nothing, the last half of his life went down in a few seconds with several huge numbers.

idgi. i have better gear than any bone spear necro i can find. i have the same spec and potions, use the same abilities, and stand in the same place and like. nothing. i can’t get uber below 50% in phase one. everyone else is barber glitching her ho down to like 5% with like 6 bone spear casts. skill issue i guess but i legitimately have no idea what’s going on

just over 24 hours left to exploit quest varshan for barbers. Got my Necro up to 51 and wt3, let’s see how this goes! From this thread seems like clvl 60 is required or at least makes the drop much more likely.

i went back to my bone spear necro on eternal last night for a goof. i think i actually like infinimist more now. i forgot how squishy i was and how annoying suppressors are. blood misting around while everything slowly chokes to death is way more chill. i might mix it up and try that echohack speedy mist build with the blood golem and bone prison.

I did keep my old chest around in case the new one didn't work out. Since I'm primarily ranged I'm still surviving pretty well (some good DR pants are likely helping here), but I imagine that will change as I level higher and higher. The simplest explanation is there's a bunch of teams working on stuff and they don't have time to talk to each other. E.g. the team that worked on The Butcher is not the one that worked on corpse bows. That's why I'm 6/6 killing butcher at NM60 but a corpse bow one shots me every fuckin' time.

He showed up in 3 dungeons in a row for me yesterday at one point. It was nice because I changed gear between the first 2 and then changed back when I saw the performance against butcher was worse.

Thanks everyone for the Barber farming tip. Got five over the last two days with like 5 hours of farming and it was totally worth it. Bone spear just melts everything with it equipped at least in WT3 EDIT: Is it even worth using all the Varshan invokers I got from farming?
