That block of text basically white washed the Japanese rule and hand waved the Taiwanese rebels they killed. But whatever.

The ending to that screed is so bizarre. If it's a move to distinguish yourselves from China, why would you highlight that the Republic of China, governed by the Kuomintang, who founded the modern state of Taiwan engaged in reprisal killings? We're nothing like China, we love to kill hitler youths? Is this a hunting trophy?

The Austrians offered the cost of 2.6 billion HRK (€351 million), the Italian-Turkish offer was 2.6 billion HRK (€341 million), while the Chinese offer was 2.1 billion HRK (€278 million).[45] On 15 January 2018, Hrvatske ceste made a formal decision according to which China Road and Bridge Corporation won the tender. In addition to the lowest price, CRBC also offered to complete the project six months faster than required.

I am not saying I have more evidence of it but this sounds like a much more believable explanation than the guy just lost his job over having an affair. And so far the penalty doesn't look like its severe enough to make QG lose both his party membership and his employment in the foreign ministry, but rather just get sent to a desk job to retire. Maybe he just hosed the wrong person by accident. We will know in a few years. If this is the extent of the issue then somebody can talk about it down low in a few years. It's less severe than say the top generals in the PLA rocket force got repaced by outsiders. That looks like a money corruption case. This is very likely. loving the wrong person is one thing, but if he tried to hide the affair then it becomes a vector to compromise you.

It's the proper reaction and it's not like they're losing anything with the loss of him, there's hundred of guys who's now looking at a sweet promotion.

In the US its grounds for immediate termination of your security clearance if you have a secret affair, add additional points if its a foreign national and then on top of its a possible foreign asset. No security clearance, no job.

isn't Qin Gang still on the state council or whatever it's called? and don't some people get kicked out of the party for having an affair? if he only lost the foreign minister position, maybe it was just the security risk of possible blackmail rather than colluding with the enemy.

Spokespersons now have said they have "no information" on what happened. Was his mistress actually a spy? Cao Ni Ma posted:This isnt an over reaction at all. No security clearance, no job. The firing isn't the part being called an overreaction. If he made a public resignation for "personal" or health reasons it'd get way less attention and speculation. So maybe she has more dirt. But right now I think Wang Yi is just bridging the gap until they officially announce a new FM in a few months. It's possible QG made the report himself because he hadn't dug the hole too deep yet. If your wife makes a stink about your affair then yes that would cause inner party discipline. But that's not the case here.

Petraeus had chosen Broadwell to be his official biographer. She co-authored his biography, All In: The Education of General David Petraeus, when Petraeus was the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) commander.[1][2] On November 9, 2012, she was reported to have been involved in the extramarital affair with Petraeus that triggered his resignation as Director of the CIA when it was discovered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).[3] what the gently caress???
