Yeah, around the country states have been figuring out just how to legalize weed, with some rich fucks absolutely steering some of the amendment/legal language to make sure there's a Big Weed and they're in charge of the conglomerate. Even in the looser areas, there's going to be a lot of consolidation in the near future. The market basically did a "good" capitalism and the weed got so cheap that it's putting some dispensaries out of business. Speaking of Japan and weed, a college (American) football team has recently had a scandal where the school found 200mg of "stimulants" and... 20mg of weed... in a player's room. The news hasn't made clear what the stimulants are (they're just saying 覚醒剤 in Japanese), but it could be anything from meth to cocaine to adderall, which is straight up illegal in Japan. The school didn't immediately contact the police, who only got involved two weeks after the school found the drugs, and the story has blown up in Japanese media.
