Some kind of expose has to come out on this. Knowing what we know now about the production of this film I’m starting to think the “alternate versions” are more about development issues getting worked out live rather than a fun Easter egg and the fact that it makes some scenes feel less “complete” only reinforces that. Lyla’s selfie is a great gag, why would you want a version of the movie that doesn’t have it?

Miles eats a Jamaican beef patty during the fight with Spot. Miguel loves the empanadas from the cafeteria, which Hobie swipes as he leaves. Hostess is never mentioned directly, but Spider-Man's love of hand pies is seemingly part of the canon.

Miles seemingly disobeying orders to save Inspector Singh wins over Hobie big time and from then on Miles is mainly focused on all the Spider-Society stuff but trusts Hobie's advice about using his palms to break out of force fields.

Not likely since Lord and Miller are part of the writer strike. Aren't the people that compile the home releases generally unrelated to the movie production? I remember that being the reason behind the Community Season 1 dvds getting the wrong versions of the epsiodes.Macaluso posted:Wha? In what way? I just checked a digital version somewhere and it had the theater version of that scene, plus the face shown in that image doesn't match the face of the lego spiderman character shown before he puts on the spiderman costume, but I guess the entire lego spiderman scene could be completely different in some version? It seems like either that image must be fake or they're randomly changing scenes in different versions just to be weird? I'm leaning towards "fake" unless there's another source for that

Having just seen this, does anyone want to list out all the random spider people talking to Miles throughout the headquarters scenes? I recognized about 2 total Also how did Jessica Drew get her powers ,is she a variant clone of Peter like scarlet spider/Ben Reilly? I kept worrying about her fetus a lot more than I did about mayday

I was discussing with my spouse how maybe canon events are only per universe , not per Spidey, and how maybe Miles doesn't need to suffer as much since his Peter already did. The answer is canon can be broken and that's okay. Also Miguel is projecting hard and the more you look at the members of the spider society the more you see cracks in his understanding of how the multiverse works. Miguel certainly sees what canon does and he knows more about it than anyone else but he's so dead set on his interpretation being the correct and only view.

By the end of the movie even she seemed to be having doubts about Miguel's methods. She's got more in common with the spidey outcasts than she does with the collective.
