I just watched Canada 2008, wasn't aware Bobby Ku won a race. What a story for him after his giant crash in 2007 at the same track. He's leading the WDC after that race as well, that 2008 BMW seems to be pretty pacy.

Of course, it did take Hamilton rear-ending Räikkönen in the pit lane for him to get the win.

that season was really weird, people were acting like a kubica WDC was actually possible on merit rather than him simply being around to pick up the pieces while hamilton massa and raikkonen had a clownshow of a season

BMW and kubica have always been midfield binmen at best

Kubica for sure claimed afterwards that if they had focused on the 2008 car development more, they could've competed closer with Ferrari and McLaren. I buy it - and there have been other championships won in F1's past by the stalking horse, so to speak (including Vettel's first) - and considering how bad their 2009 car wound up being...well, the glory could've helped save some face if they were going to be that bad anyway.

What did you say the strategy was?
How many pit stops did the Ferrari boys gently caress up at le mans? How did they get strategy right for 24 hours but can't do it for 2?

In fairness, AF Corse have been doing this 24 hour endurance racing thing for a while, just with GT cars and not for the overall win. It also feels like the ACO hit Toyota with enough of a BOP-hammer to allow Ferrari to not gently caress it up.

The Scuderia has too many chefs in the kitchen, and has for a while, and won’t get better until they find the next Jean Todt who can massage upper management egos while shielding the proper racing team from hairbrained CEO ideas.

It’s not fair to call Lewis the Tiger Woods of Formula 1. Lewis hasn’t had a string of very public affairs, forced women to sign NDA’s, or been in a career ending car accident.

If anything, Frank Williams is the Tiger Woods of Formula 1.
