I figure Wolverine oughta have Popeye/Luke-sized forearms both to house the knives and articulate them/keep them from getting ripped out like hangnails.

So are Wolverine's claws flat like knives, or tubular like icicles? In the movies they have a triangular shape. What gives?

They used to be more tubular, like an actual animal's claws/talons, but then different art styles and eventually the movies turned them into blades.

He's had them removed and replaced so many times, he probably swaps them out like getting a manicure, now.

It had potential, but devolved into magical super powers and battle shonen stuff pretty quick, and then the ending was basically a giant "TO BE CONTINUED i guess sure whatever" that didn't resolve poo poo. So far as I know, the follow up manga also ends with "TO BE CONTINUED eventually maybe whatever". Also the creepy brother complex stuff and all the rest of that.
