We know from the ongoing FTC hearings that Microsoft wanted to! Pete Parsons had alluded to it in the past, but now we know that MS one way or another got to dig through Bungie's financials. As of the Beyond Light era, Microsoft was put off by the high burn-rate at Bungie at the time (meaning how quickly they were burning through their cash reserves) but they specifically valued "securing valuable IP, Destiny (and its community) and integration of its dev & live ops infrastructure into Xbox Game Studios"

I was doing the Lightfall campaign on my long-neglected hunter and suddenly enemies stopped moving and killing them just caused them to immediately come back. After a little while I got kicked to orbit and I was unable to relaunch the mission. Time to go to bed.

Well I didn't get flawless since servers, but I did get master GoA done with friends instead, so I have three pieces of mediocre artifice armor (half mobility roll half discipline) and the gjallasparrow, so that's neat I will probably gently caress up forever the sparrow race and get eye blasted by the ogre a ton getting this shader later if I'm not crashing to orbit lol RBA Starblade fucked around with this message at 05:30 on Aug 15, 2023 |

I mean, they have seasonal objectives for gambit and crucible. Either support the game you are asking your players to play or cut it from everything, like they are going to do to gambit. These don’t seem like crazy asks considering bungie considers pvp an important part of the game.

For me it's because it's something Bungie explicitly promised, did once, and then didn't bother with ever again. It seriously wouldn't be as much of an issue if it wasn't something they said themselves they were going to do and then just didn't. Admitting it's not happening long after people noticed it wasn't only made matters worse.

I think it's a combination of people decrying Bungie having gone back on their word on a new ritual armor set each expansion and chafing at the reason for it, that not many people use the ritual armor sets in the first place to justify the resources to invest in it, because the Ritual armor sets look plain compared to sets coming out of the Eververse, Raids/Dungeons, and Seasons

It's not that it looks plain, it's that it has no gameplay value since its stats are inferior to most other armor sources. If it looked fantastic it might attract a few transmogs but they need to make it more appealing as a build component

I liked the titan set! They added it to the game as Blues without any gambit snakes or vanguard birds or whatever, and it looked sharp Of course a lot of goofuses didn't even notice and were grumbling about worthless Blues dropping

Not sure what new maps are going to do for PVP at this point. Just bring back the vaulted maps. Except Emperors Respite. All traces of that map should be destroyed.

I dunno, every time they do this, the game ends up in a great spot in 5-6 months. That's right around when TFS will come out so maybe it's fine? Take a break until game is good again if you really dont like it right now otherwise it's same old destiny.
