The Whalers will take the really underrated Eetu Luostarinen. 43 points in limited ice time, excellent defensively, and only 24 years old. This just about rounds out my team, and I'm very happy with it. I wanted to build a team that could contend right away but also be in a good shape to contend for years to come. Other than when Rantanen gets a raise in two years, nobody on my team will be making more than $9.5m for the forseeable long future, and only 3 players in total (Rantanen, Fox, and Barzal) are making than $6.25m for the next few seasons. I have a balanced four lines, hopeful that Cooley is a star pretty soon and that Will Smith can jump in as an NHL regular in a couple of years when guys like Pavelski are done (or if I lose someone to free agency in 2025). I have possibly the best defense in the league (which is also loaded with long-term team-friendly contracts), I like my goalie tandem (cheap and good, I am a big fan of Swayman). I lack game-breakers on offense outside of Rantanen (and maybe Barzal) but I have around $22m in cap room to add one if need be.
