Randalor posted:Completely unrelated to pipetalk, I recently found an old Bell & Howell 1621 Super 8 projector and some reels of film while clearing out my parents crap. The Super 8 projector still had styrofoam in the case to boot. The outside is dusty as all hell from being stored in the garage, but the inside of the case looks brand new. Does anyone know what I should look out for as far as "parts to replace sooner rather than later" on this thing? I can provide photos later if anyone wants to see it. i have a bell & howell 8mm projector from the same era and the drive belt for the take up reel was so brittle and crumbly with age that it was basically chunks on the bottom of the case. i improvised a so-so replacement (a giant bag of rubber bands) but a real belt would be better you should post photos, some of those old super 8 projectors were stylish as heck

I saw a tv in japan in 2003 that had a lenticular screen and depending on which side of the tv you sat you could watch a different channel. Also it played the audio of both channels out the same speaker...it was so parents and kids could watch different shows on one tv.

Is it for security systems or something? It seems like a low-tech way of watching a bunch of cameras on one screen at once.

I'm pretty sure from the demonstration it is to show all of the scrambled porn channels and hold the channel in the hopes you catch a titty.
