My dad-in-law wrinkled his nose at me when I said "Eminence Front" is my favorite The Who song.

...How controversial of an opinion is this? :ohdear: My second favorite is Baba O'Reilly, as both are tied to nostalgic media for me: GTA San Andreas for EF and the Bugs Life trailer for BOR. I was super young for the latter, god I feel old! :bahgawd:

Eminence Front has always been my favorite, probably because I was a kid when it came out and it got played a lot. All the earlier stuff I was a toddler or didn’t exist

i get why it would be looked down on by a particular kind of who fan

the sort that really bought into the mythology of the group, that couldn't accept that the group continued without moon

i was extremely into the who as a teenager - quadrophenia especially - and while I've cooled on them a bit as I've gotten older, i could not see myself judging anyone for picking eminence front as their favorite

now, if you had said squeeze box or like happy jack or something, then we're going to have a difficult conversation

i cannot brook the music hall novelty tune

I really like The Kids Are Alright, but I'm pretty much against any gatekeeping of music. Even if something is generally regarded as not a strong piece of work for an artist\band; if someone digs it, then that's great! Fwiw I like Eminence Front too, and I don't think that'd be too controversial of an opinion to most folks.

Lights on, Lights off
I've cooled on The Who as well, but my favorite has always been The Seeker because of Guitar Hero 3 reasons. And to really prove there's someone with worse opinions on The Who than you, Music Must Change is my second favorite. You like what you like and have a laugh at each other's hot takes as well as your own.

Alternate take: Go full cool guy hipster and get a copy of Jon Entwhistle's Smash your Head Against the Wall and be smug about it :v:

Drink it up and hunker down
Eminence Front is good and my hot take has always been that The Guess Who are better than The Who

Anyway Chvrches is doing a 10th anniversary release of The Bones of What You Believe with a second LP having 4 unreleased tracks and 4 live tracks and even though I have the original I have to double down on that.

I decided I was fine paying the shipping again. Mondo also shipped the Silent Hill 2/3/4 soundtracks I ordered a little bit ago so I'm excited to get those as well

Yeah I'm not crazy about that, but if it takes slapping his name on the cover to get some semi-obscure horror scores on vinyl I'll survive.

It never stops.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum is currently crowdfunding a new album, short film and a 2024 reunion tour. Vinyl isn't on the list of perks, but they've confirmed it's part of the plan. Either way I'm jazzed to see one of my favorite bands back.

I saw something about that yesterday, but I already have the Shameless UK bluray so I don't know if I'll drop money for it on 4K.

Having said that, I'm also an idiot so I will probably end up with a 4k version because I love that movie, hence the av.

Also to keep it on topic, loot!

And Static Age by the Misfit which I apparently didn't get a shot of.
