It's just that gensec and the payday gang's enemies are somehow worse. It's also nice to see Ice T in the payday universe. Gotta have that Hollywood star to anchor the game.

I hope they are changing Joy a lot, with a new VA or something. Her voice was really grating, especially in combination with a lot of her voice lines just being constant shouting about points. Also I am kinda disappointed we aren't getting Clover back, I always kind of thought of her as the 5th member of the gang. Houston doesn't count.

Yeah, experiencing the "Joy" of a FAK build with her was, uh, something. They probably know that and made her voice a lighter on the ears. No word on any VA names yet, I wonder who voices the new one. Sharing your disappointment as well, especially since I have the most hours played with Clover. Mostly because the hair physics combined with the car physics was something that pissed of my buddies immensly

Clover's great and has been my preferred heister since we've had preferred heisters but I've made my peace with her not returning in 3 long ago. IIRC Aoife Duffin messed her voice up somewhat recording lines for 2 - not as badly as Ulf I think, but when they got her back in the studio for medic lines it was a noticeable difference - and I'd guess Starbreeze isn't willing to hand her whatever fat sack of cash would get her back for 3.

FYI: if anyone requested access to the previous beta and didn't get in, the new request button won't appear. But this workaround fixed it for me: 1. Go to the Steam store page for Payday 3 in Google Chrome (Ensure you are logged into your steam account) 2. Press F12 to open up the Elements HTML 3. Go to the section "Console" 4. Paste javascript:RequestPlaytestAccess(); Into the Console

I think it doesn't show up because you're automatically considered for future playtests. I submitted one for the previous playtest, didn't get in. Did not submit a new one, and I got an email a few minutes ago for this new playtest.

Game feels good, a bit laggy but apparently this is a very old build. Also I could stand to turn down some graphics probably. People are pissed about having to make an account to play the game but if that means that I can start on gamepass then buy it later on steam and my progress carries over I'm cool w/ it. I might not play a whole lot of this since the actual release is so close at this point and I don't really want to spoil too much.

Beta feels rough optimization wise and in a really odd way. I got a 3080ti, 16 gigs of ram, and a Ryzen 9 5950x but even at medium I wasn’t cracking 60 FPs yet when I was loooing at my GPU load it wasn’t going any higher load than like 65% but the game auto set itself to ultra

Me and my friend got into the beta and spent about 20 minutes trying to start a game together and just...couldn't. The game kept bugging out and listing him as being at level -255 and having no loadout, and every time we tried to launch a game it'd just hang on the ready screen or kick us out before that with a network error. We eventually just gave up without even getting to try the game. Doesn't exactly bode well.
