My mom used to make donuts by cutting that biscuit-dough-in-a-tube in half and frying the halves in oil then rolling them in cinnamon and sugar. She called them poor man's donuts. I still make them and they are still good. But I would love to try making donuts from scratch sometime. These look gorgeous, and simple raised with chocolate icing are my favorite.

Thanks y'all. They were kinda a pain in the rear end to make and now I have like 6-700ml of oil to use. Gonna give cruellers a shot. They apparently don't require me to spend 3-ish hours getting dough to rise. Thinking about cake donuts as well. The oil can also prob handle me making tortillas and then my own chips.
