Uh oh. Russian artillery getting destroyed in solodka balka. Counter battery is weakening. Ukraine is moving on in with a lot less opposition than expected currently. There's a ton of opsec. I have as my working document: a video of Russian forces getting hit by MBTs and drones. a video of the Spartan brigade destroying APCs with howitzers in solodka Balka. D-30s to be exact so that shows they're moving within 14 KM of the town. Also really howitzers should never be able to destroy artillery. I mean there's supposed to be enough stuff between the artillery and the howitzers to prevent that kind of thing from happening so if it is happening then that means Russia has been caught completely off guard by the speed that Ukraine is now moving. I mean remember when Ukraine was blowing up SPGs with tanks? And there were goons in here saying that should never ever loving happen

The T14 turret is unmanned, it only contains the gun, its loader, and sights/ sensors. So it's designed to be small and it's pretty much unarmored because a hit in the turret is going to disable all the internal systems even if the projectile is "defeated", and there's no crew inside that needs protection from full perforation.

The turret is not very heavily armored. The tank is designed to have great crew protection at minimum weight by having a crew capsule up front that's entirely separated from the turret compartment, only armoring it to autocannon level, and using a lot of active protection. If the active protection works, it's a sensible tradeoff. Not that any of that matters because apparently the engines in the tanks are all fubar. Also, shot traps are not really a thing against modern ammo, an APFSDS dart turns into an angled surface instead of being deflected from it, and modern tanks are not designed to reject rounds at the surface of their armor (because that just plain wouldn't work), but to have them deeply embed themselves in it while using NERA to erode them over a long distance.
