I mostly play healer because if you're smart with your abilities you hardly ever die, at least in comparison to tanks and dps, and when you do die it's generally not because you lost a 1v1.

The healer experience is mostly playing your own game, and scoffing at your teammates idiocy when they get themselves killed despite your flawless care.

Maybe so, which is why it is Bap's choice who to support. Getting pulled out of danger isn't the worst thing in the world, even if I personally think I'm going to turn it around and get 2 kills with a slam or whatever. People who don't get value out of their abilities will derank. I don't hate bad LW pulls.

The "Looking for Group" was such a hotfix, but a g r e a t o n e . If they just patched it in for now while they work on this "clan" system it'd make the game so much more fun for newcomers. The greatest thing about LFG was... you would know IMMEDIATELY if someone used their mic or not, and if it was poo poo sounding you could boot. I remember also letting people stay if they at least could type poo poo decently fast, not some 'need voice or gtfo' jerk.

LFG patched in now.... a bandaid that they ripped off that took a chunk of skin and some hair with it and have to put back on and it's all gross and sticky but hey it'll prevent infection necrosis waiting for the clan-surgeon to stitch it!

There are a lot of questions to be answered, and maybe they are looking for more feedback? A few that come to mind with which I don't have an answer to:
    Maximum size of clan?
    -Please let there be a limit, give sponsored-streamers double the max size maybe for fun times making engaging content with clan-try-outs?
    Should an account be only able to have one clan?
    -Maybe a main one and two auxiliary ones?
    Moderators/Founders/Clan Leaders?
    -What happens when the clan "founder" gives up the game or gets hit by a bus.
    Clan-war tourney existence/customization.
    -bracket tournaments with hero bans (widow/hanzo no no) with like... I dunno 6v6 using the last Overwatch 1 patch?

I've ranted ad nauseam on how much I hate the comp ladder. I'd like to imagine Bracket tourney's would get more popular with people burned out on it. Clans would help this game immeasurably & I really hope they stick the landing. Knowing your teammates strengths and weaknesses before the match starts will inform your gameplay/playstyle much more than mute profile bar graphs with time played... much a more of cockroach-AI in comparison.

I just think it'd be neat to see like... e.g. the kephrii winfrey's clan form on his stream. Clan dedicated to enabling a great widow player instead of this dice-roll comp ladder poo poo. I'd watch that poo poo much more consistently than just endless GM/TOP 500 games on purplestramsite.

Hey maybe the Diablo 4 UI designer will get to work on it!

They're fine. Enemy AI is at "walk forward and shoot you" levels. According to streamers, the max difficulty is extremely difficult but only because they made every single robot a bullet sponge with a million HP.

I think I still prefer the Blackwatch archives event to any of the new missions.

Sometimes different enemies spawn. idk what you mean by mixing up objectives, but the missions have a variety of different ones within them that usually boil down to "hold off waves", "protect payload", or "defeat boss". there's no alternate paths or significant changes between playthroughs.

I'm watching some gameplay now of the story-missions and is anyone else annoyed the voicelines from the characters don't have that crunchy-hard static noise to them?

Edit: Maybe the clip I'm watching teammates are just not far enough away?
Edit 2: Doesn't seem distance based; they seem to have just added a reverb/mild chorus effect for distance?
Edit 3million: At least the NPC "mission commander" i.e. Ferry Captain types in the character comms have the crunch. Just a personal preference but I like crunchy pb.
Edit 4: I'm about half-way through this VOD and I kinda dig it TBH. Kinda wish there was a time attack or score attack mode with a leaderboard but it's no longer a dealbreaker. Maybe time attack/speedrun would be easier to balance.....

I'll wait for a steam sale.

Yeah, they did. One of the maps has you defending a ferry while civilians evacuate, and then you go through the city and eventually pick up survivors to escort to the end. There are a ton of scripted events and the maps are surprisingly large and have a ton of added parts, not just repurposed Kings Row or Rialto.

Blizzard has burned a massive amount of goodwill and the maps do lack some replayability without the skill trees, but you can see the bones of a pretty expansive and decent single player game.

I was hard stuck Plat all of OW1 and started OW2 in silver, but have managed to climb to Masters 3 as a Moira-main on console. It’s been funny having to change my approach through the ranks, and eventually end up right back where I started:

Silver/gold: games are chaotic and everybody is constantly dying no matter what you do, so might as well get some kills yourself and make some plays. DPS Moira.

Plat/Diamond: your team mostly knows how to play the game but everyone still just shoots whatever is right in front of them so if you can keep your team alive longer eventually the enemies will overextend and die. Healbot Moira.

Masters: everyone has pretty good positioning so you end up in these long, stalematey team fights, but your team can win a 4v3 pretty easily so fading into their backline and distracting their healers is a great way to break open a fight. Back to DPS Moira.

We’ll see if this lasts through Masters or if my rear end gets knocked back down to Diamond

Eh, I'd rather play the game i like, and support the game I like by spending money on it.

The PVE was fun, the higher difficulties are legit hard, and had less than 1% completion rate or something. Top 500 streamers doing 40~ hours of attempts to beat it.

But it was rather short lived, and I am doubtful I'll go back to actually play them again outside of with friends who might need to do it.

But for 5 dollars? I was happy with what I received.

Unhappy about other things, but not the quality or the content that was part of the 5 dollar PVE.

Yeah, pretty much this. I probably won’t go back and replay it, but I had a fun time playing through with friends and at that price point it was fine.

I like the PVP, its what I bought the game for. I never really cared about the PVE, except as a fun afterthought. They're giving us a constant flow on a schedule, and I like that. Its way better than the last 2 years of overwatch 1's life with zero updates.

It turned into spam/ads/etc at the end of OW1. I am guessing that they just haven't wanted to deal with it in the new engine yet. More social features would be nice.

Laughing right now as last night i survived a whole team attack on me as JQ by just hitting a big cleave and letting my kiriko spam heal me from a distance.

Heals are wildly good right now. Illari is kinda funny too because she's literally just a "dps character with heal turret".

We're starting to just nano illari for team wipes now.

it got buffed from 3 to 4 seconds at some point after ow2 launched but has been walked back to 3.5 seconds a few months back

IIRC they did that before and the ages were equally all over the place. I have this strong memory that Reinhart's age and birth year didn't match, so he would have been 12 on his birth year or something like that.

It's a 5 year gap instead of a 7 year one I have no idea why they changed it. As if you're worrying about people calling Mercy a groomer it still applies.

Then again Mercy's age has always been in flux so what else is new
