KISS ME KRIS

Edge & Christian posted:

Based on inference from this morning's Observer Radio, they stated that Punk "lunging at" Tony was underselling things, and Meltzer kept sort of hesitating/switching between "monitors fell on Tony and some other staff" and "monitors and equipment were pushed over".

I have no idea what kind of equipment was involved but if an angry person started trying to push over broadcast equipment onto you, I don't really care about the actuarial statistics of fatal crushing accidents, I buy that as a "fear for my life" thing in the moment.

TK's work area during shows that we've seen has a bunch of monitors and production gear. So like a couple TV/Monitors, a bunch of various cables, a production console(so he can look at various camera feeds and talk to the camera guys). Like 20 grand worth of poo poo. It should be light enough to transport but there's plenty of trip hazards. Also its a concrete concourse so not good for brains.

Oh yeah, those ones. I can’t even go into the replies on this stuff for a laugh because the people are so deranged that it’s not even funny to me. The parasocial relationship poo poo is just off the charts. It’s just gross and sad to see random strangers sticking up for a 40-year-old-man who can’t control his emotions.

Here's the thing though. If "people" hadn't leaked Punk's backstage argument with Jungle Boy about using glass ahead of time, literally nobody would have known what Perry was talking about. I had no idea, so I just thought he was being a dickhead heel and reminding everyone that he was about to hurt Hook badly by suplexing him on glass.

So you know...

E: also these disingenuous shitstains on humanity's collective diaper are ignoring the fact that Tony Khan consulted a disciplinary committee and legal before deciding to fire Punk, and they all unanimously told him to do it. "I feared for my safety" didn't feel like the reason Punk was fired, but a set up to illustrate that in all of his time going to shows and booking wrestling, Tony has never been in a situation this bad or volatile before, so whatever Punk did -- and obviously Tony can't just decide to publish the footage -- was much more than just getting in Perry's face and having a shoving match.

E2: and also lol at the loving wrestling gammons lining up to let everyone know that THEY are tough boys who have been in fights (in Canada, you probably didn't see it) and didn't even get scared, because that's how tough and manly and masculine they are. Pathetic toxic masculinity from these shriveled penises of human beings shouldn't surprise me anymore, but it's still sad to see. You don't get to dictate when someone feels scared for their safety, you absolute loving bellends.

I only watched the video of him addressing the crowd once so I may me misremembering, but it seemed like people cooled off on the booing when he started talking about how people should be afraid for their safety when they come to work.

I do find it admirable how he went out to the live crowd like that. He didn’t have to do that or the pretape, it’s somewhat unprecedented in wrestling aside from stuff that drove storylines/character arcs like the “Bret screwed Bret” stuff after Montreal.

I can't help but wonder if part of the reason he did it is he knew he was opening the show with the return of Danielson, someone he knew A) he could trust completely, and B) Chicago would go nuts with joy over seeing.

Overall I think he was taking the bandaid approach. In one go get everything out. Make the decision and the reasoning clear. Speak directly to the crowd so they know this is coming from you and you're not hiding from it. Then move forward.

It probably loving sucked to do, especially for a guy who seems very nervous every time he's doing something that isn't a pretape, but it all got done at once, and the dumbshits who get mad at him were going to get mad at him anyway.

WWE have never really talked about their side of the Punk firing, have they

not that they're a reputable source at all, but I'd say neither them nor Punk were at all truthful about the circumstances of his firing in 2014, whereas TK yesterday was like, this is why we've fired Punk, this is us being transparent about it, if Punk wants to say otherwise he's at liberty to do so but we will not let him dictate the events of that afternoon as though his account is gospel

There were also SOME Punk chants throughout the night so it probably helped to get some of that out of the crowd’s system by being the one to take the brunt of their anger before the show started. I could see the show starting with Punk chants had they not gotten some of it out at Tony directly moments before.

They just seriously don't believe the truth. I'm sure they all have different bizarre reasons for doing so but a ton of these weirdos honestly believe that Punk has never done anything wrong and that The Elite are all behind this

I know it will probably never happen but I would love to see someone leak the footage of the Perry/Punk fight just to shut these fucks up but I'm sure a ton of them would say it's doctored footage or whatever stupid poo poo they need to believe so that they don't have to admit they've been a fan of an actual psycho for decades

And I say this as someone who was a huge Punk fan up until the media scrum meltdown and the fight after. It really wasn't that hard for me to change my mind and be like "welp I guess Punk is actually a huge piece of poo poo after all" but I guess some of these people have a really hard time changing their own minds about anything
