I double checked when I made that post - after he broke out in Toronto, Snow went to Jamaica and lived there for awhile, collaborating with and learning from a lot of Jamaican musicians like Buju Banton. So yeah, he grew up in a Jamaican community and kept working at it. I don’t know how big he is in Jamaica, but he sure respects it. (The comparison I was responding to was Tom Hanks’ poser son, for the record.)
