Internet Janitor posted:That most important freedom: freedom of politicians from the consequences of their actions. This is the classic Roman notion of freedom (arguably Greek as well), that "freedom" results when you own slaves because you are free to expect obligations from them without reciprocating. Chamale posted:I've never read an article claiming that. Millennial life expectancy was trending downwards even before covid, thanks to poor healthcare, high stress, obesity, and drug toxicity. It owns. People have made that claim but its basically always from places of profound ignorance, usually just looking at global life expectancy in aggregate and assuming that the upward trend is just permanent for everyone evenly.

I like Dan Carlin's podcasts even if he's a dipshit libertarian, and he points out pretty well in a recent Hardcore History that western slavery popped up again in a big way because of the renaissance resurgence in interest in the classical world. Wonder how things would have worked out if the big important people hadn't read those classical texts and we got to the Enlightenment without them.

I would say there are multiple reasons, particularly when you can just PCR test daily. (e;fb on that) In this particular case I don't think Biden can just pop Pax all the time, as I vaguely recall he is on some heart medicine that has to be paused.
