the tl;dr is that that card was printed before magic cards had official card numbers. it's also early enough that it's somewhere around the one thousand four hundredth unique card printed. i figured the people who put the official mtg database together might have used the way cards are numbered now (by colour and then alphabetically within the colour) and doing rough math ended up with invoke prejudice being about card 1480, and there's some wiggle room for the weird unique promo cards that might have been included in the numbering. this was years ago, so i can't provide exact numbers or systems i used. Bear in mind this is only 2 years after jpegs were even invented. And the same year Netscape came out. If they were digitized at all, I bet they were custom metadata files stored in a folder in a hard disk.
