If you want a cat to be somewhere, like your lap when you're actually able to spend a nice long time snuggling and petting them, they will leave as soon as there is an errant gust of wind and blame you for it. If you do not want a cat to be somewhere, like a terrarium, there is no force in Heaven or Earth that can move them.

Look at the tiny white paws. Does that happen in wild rats, or are these descended from pet/lab rats? I thought most wild rats would have the agouti fur pattern. Like these little guys,

A few weeks ago, when I gave my dog his usual lunch, he didn't finish it. Since it's summer, there are flies everywhere, so one of them laid a bunch of eggs in the remains of his food. That's just nasty, so I threw the last little bit out the window for the wild birds to eat. He somehow knew that his food had been thrown out the window, so now that I put his leftovers in the fridge to keep them safe, he immediately makes sad noises, searches the room for his lunch and even peers out the window to see if I cruelly threw it away again

When I picked up my rescue kitten years ago the dedicated kitten room STUNK and they were going to have to completely gut it to the studs before they renovated it.
