I've got one, and good luck getting the drill bits centred. The 'collet' is 2 lovely grubscrews. Not a real one like on every other rotary tool.

I tried to cut the plastic on an Eastern Express kit with one of those circular cutters but then it exploded and almost hit me in the face. I don't know if it's the disk or the plastic to blame, but I haven't tried to use them since.

Yeah, watch out for those. I managed to run the dremel version across my thumb years ago. Left a nifty trough right over the thumbprint.

Abrasive cutting disks for Dremels should be marketed as eye removal tools, it doesn't matter if they are original or cheap copies. Those fuckers will shatter and make a beeline for your face the moment the disc makes contact with anything.

Definitely wear eyepro but otherwise they don't seem to carry enough energy to do damage, I've had plenty shatter of course without even hurting anything. They do get used up very quickly too.

✔️Eyewear if I do use those circular ones, although I don稚 think I will. I didn稚 even notice them when I ordered it.

I am mostly planning/hoping to scratch up the surface, smooth off some bits, and maybe drilling some holes for bullet type damage.

Just got my $16 brother tape bluetooth printer. Okay this is definitely my favorite ali product of the year.

edit: see update of the tapes before you buy it!

The app has like 50 custom fonts and at least 10 handwriting fonts. Plus I can print whatever emoticon I want. At least 2/3rd of the colored emoticon can be printed in black and white without any fixing.

The only feature I want that's not in the app is the ability to print mega letters in 2 tape width. I need to find a 3rd party solution for it.

Which model is this? I couldn't find one that looks like this and they seem to be using thermal paper. I though of using it to label cables and wiring but that would be pretty useless.

All these tape-based label printers are thermal. Why would that mean you can't use it to label cables?

Unless they have some magical new technology that I haven't noticed, thermal prints tend to fade and become unreadable pretty quickly. I guess due to UV exposure? Also heat obviously so not great for car wiring.

They get you on the cartridge tape, you can find ones that take raw generic label tape that costs hardly anything.

Today I was joking with a coworker about the $1400 testing device that we are ordering as a replacement for the one that received exactly zero maintenance or calibration since it was purchased in 1997. I was like "we could probably just get one for $50 on aliexpress lol", but I just checked and we can actually get one for $47 on aliexpress.

These label printers use thermal transfer, not direct thermal printing like on receipts.

Googling this it sounds like thermal transfer means there's a separate ribbon which would need to be replaced so are you sure that's correct?

Those second ribbons are usually in the same cartridge and get spooled up inside, for the actual brother carts at least.
