With UA's advantage in terms of resupply... and with the alleged limited number of ATACMs in the arsenals of UA allies, it makes sense to get them to UA at the height of the mud season, when Moscovia's resupply problems are at their most severe.... that would be the *perfect* time to take out hubs in Moscovia's deep rear.

Ukraine is expected to receive the first six of 19 F-16 fighter jets from Denmark by the end of the year, with the rest expected to be delivered next year and in 2025. The Netherlands also has 42 F-16s available, but has not yet decided how many it will donate. Western powers have also given tanks, armoured vehicles, artillery rocket systems, air defence batteries, cruise missiles and self propelled guns.

Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskiy said last weekend that his forces had broken through Russia�s first line of defence near Zaporizhzhia, while Jens Stoltenberg, the Nato secretary-general, said on Thursday that Ukrainian forces were �gradually gaining ground� in their counteroffensive, which began in June. �They have been able to breach the defensive lines of the Russian forces, and they are moving forward,� he added.

During a surprise two-day visit to Ukraine this week, the US secretary of state Antony Blinken promised $1 billion of new wartime aid to Kyiv. The package includes $175 million for weapons.

Lines up with reports from the Russians that the fighting in the south has gotten much less intensive in the last few days.. but still, that sort of snippy attitude won't get you very far in life Zelenskyy.

The Finns also have a standing army of about 25,000, and pretty much every part of the country is well within possible strikes. It just isn't really a good springboard for action especially since they are nearly completely reliant on shipping across the Baltic. The Russians have mostly ignored it.

The ATACMS thing suggests that "being nice" to the Russians was never the issue but the US literally had no missiles to give them until now. That said, it is unclear how they would really be different than other comparable systems they got before.

As for the frontline, it is generally much quieter in the last 2 weeks; it does seem the Ukrainians are still pushing toward Verbove but the 82nd is taking some heavy losses and they will likely be relieved by the 80th Air Assault brigade.
