I mean, I'm not endorsing it, but I kinda get why she did what she did. I'm guessing it's people who just started watching it on Max (ne HBOmax) and haven't gotten to the end. People largely stopped talking about Game of Thrones within a couple months of it ending so if you'd avoided it until now you wouldn't really know much about it. Young parents, people in their early 20s would have had very little exposure to Game of Thrones probably. I like watching reaction videos to the Red Wedding.

When the kids were preteens, every Friday was movie and pizza night. We showed a lot of old movies (already old in the 1990s, that is). One time we put on The Thin Man. Do not do this. It is by far the most boring of the Thin Man movies. We switched it off and my daughter said, "They sure did drink a lot in those days." "I'll have two double martinis. " "And the same for me."

Yeah I don't think the Thin Man movies are gonna be entertaining for kids, it's just a bunch of drunks talking about wanting booze or being hungover and eventually there's a "One of you is the murderer" parlor scenes. But what Dashiell Hammet adaptation is a 10 year old gonna love?

most of these have some kind of reason for why a smoothbrain would consider them "conservative" (the reason is that there are guns and sexy ladies), but Touhou of all things being on there was a curve ball, I'll give them that "yeah, I know that every important character is a woman, none of the women are designed to be sexually appealing to men, conflict is resolved through nonlethal play combat and mutual compromise, and the world the game takes place in is basically a refugee haven, but dude trust me it totally validates our worldview" fluffyDeathbringer has a new favorite as of 22:57 on Sep 10, 2023 |
