Do you want to play a quick little puzzle game? Do you want to find your batteries have stopped being ways to store energy, and become bombs for terraforming? I had to uninstall the demo back during the steam demo fest if I wanted to try anything else out. I think one or two things might improve during early access. But honestly it seems pretty feature complete to me.

p.s. if you are the developer and reading this include one of the really drastic tech choices in the steam previews

Sailing Era releases it's first dlc today which means I am here to shill hard for it/the base game.

https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/256924826/movie480_vp9.webm?t=1673491978

Sailing Era is a chinese made sailing RPG in the vein of the old Uncharted Waters games and to a much lesser extent Sid Meier's Pirates, the developers clearly adored those games as kids and wanted to modernize them. The translation is not good or great but it's firmly in 'good enough' territory. The game does pretty much everything you'd expect this sort of game to. Decently fun ship to ship combat, on land exploration, making megabuxx trading across the sealanes, building a variety of cool new semi-period appropriate ships. Sailing Era takes place in the late 16th/early 17th century and has a surprisingly good grasp of history despite fudging the details in the name of fun. There's like 30+ crew members consisting of everything from the last Inca warrior visiting vengeance upon the colonizers on the high seas to a Welsh agent provocateur to a Cambodian pirate queen.

There are five playable protagonists as of the new DLC. Completing the story of one protagonist makes them recruitable on follow up playthroughs:

Abdullah, a pearl diver from Muscat on the Arabian peninsula. He takes to the high seas in search of RRRRRREVENGE when a business deal gone bad leaves his fellow pearl divers dead. His campaign tends towards combat.

Andrew, a Portuguese explorer motivates by the sheer joy of seeing everything this world has to offer. This is your beginner campaign, no real curveballs here. He wants to do the Age of Exploration thing, minus the colonialism.

Yun Mu, a Chinese folklorist/scholar who wants to retrace the journey of Zheng He's treasure ships and generally build ties to the outside world to reverse historical isolationism. This game is definitely a more optimistic alt history, no shame in that.

Yoshitaka, a Japanese shipwright/aristocrat who is increasingly nervous about how Japan/his Clan seem to be left behind by foreigners so he goes on a journey to learn modern shipbuilding practices.

And finally the new DLC protagonist Fiona, a Swedish woman who seeks to break the Hanseatic League's trade stranglehold on the North Sea as retribution for the death of her father.

Sailing Era is a delight, if you're into age of exploration ship fuckery you will have a grand old time.

Sailing Era sounds neat. In terms of the translation being only adequate, do you mean dialogue is going to be janky, or do you mean it's gonna be hard to figure out how to play the game? The latter is the issue I've had with some otherwise very cool looking stuff like Cultivation Simulator

Mostly dialogue. I never had trouble understanding anything on the mechanics end and the game is frankly straightforward enough that there isn't really too much you can obfuscate there with a bad translation.

Just the dialogue will be a little stilted. There used to be some poorly worded character abilities as a result but those have been ironed out to my knowledge.

2.5D RPG. I hesitate to call it Octopath Traveler in Wuxia China, because so far it's been a much more traditional RPG revolving around your singular experience (albeit with recruitable party members), but those are definitely the aesthetic vibes it wants to give off.

The Chinese players are correct that the gamepad controls kinda suck. Mouse and keyboard works great though.

Wandering Sword is quite good so far. The intro is a bit confiningly tutorialized at first but when you reach the cave scene you will probably be all in. An excellent scene that also does a good job of showcasing a lot of cool poo poo you will come to see/learn later on in the game.

I am eager to see how the four way story split manifests.

The Crew Motorfest came out today, and there's a free five hour trial you can play now.

It's honestly quite good if you like that type of game. Handling is maybe a little better and more accurate than Forza Horizon and it looks great. Bit bummed that they gave up the whole US map thing, Oahu is cool but it's not even one to one scale. And I've driven a 50cc motorbike from the south shore to the north shore of Oahu and back in a day, it's not even a very big island to be honest.

Probably won't buy it, I got The Crew 2 for like five bucks and I'm not even close to finishing it. But, won't say no to five free hours of playing it and I'll probably pick it up once it's under twenty bucks in a year or two.
