So did Scarlet O'Neil just abandon the child she was hired to look after in a hospital without calling in the grandfather? I know the plot is fast-paced, but you'd think she'd spare a thought for a child that got in an accident because of her. :psyduck:

I know we've occasionally bitched about some of the Crabgrass stories that went a little too long and were a bit off the wall, so I'll say this - I really liked that last arc. It was paced well, was funny, and touching without being saccharine.
It really does seem to come down to whether Tauhid keeps things grounded in reality and on a level of "families dealing with their stuff" or whether he's going for a YA adventure movie pastiche.

They're right.

I know that I of all people shouldn't be on this train but I am. Jamesallen's trail was better in every conceivable metric. Even his weird "I'm not owned I'm not owned" self-done art was better than whatever Jules is doing.

Comparing Jam and Jules' Mark Trail is an excellent illustration of absolute vs. relative quality. It was all around a very bad comic strip, and it was all around a better comic strip than Nu Trail.

I cannot stand this iteration of Popeye. I appreciate the desire to "modernize" the strip a bit but this is just not Popeye. I'm open to taking Popeye into new territory but you gotta find a balance between the "modern" and paying homage to what the strip is (weird shenanigans/adventure). This could easily be any other slice of life webcomic. It's just boring and terribly cartooned.
