Remnants of Lee made landfall somewhere at the US-Canada border. Was that a nothingburger in the end then?

Chances are, if you live in the USA, that there is a gun in nearly every house on the street. Also remember stores don't open/stay open without a functioning economy, 'civility'

I’d say that’s only true in some places.

Wyoming has 50% more gun owners with 5% the population of New Jersey

Three-in-ten American adults say they currently own a gun, and another 11% say they don’t personally own a gun but live with someone who does. Among those who don’t currently own a gun, about half say they could see themselves owning one in the future.

Gun ownership is more common among men than women, and white men are particularly likely to be gun owners. Among those who live in rural areas, 46% say they are gun owners, compared with 28% of those who live in the suburbs and 19% in urban areas.

Two-thirds of gun owners say they own more than one gun, including 29% who own five or more guns. About seven-in-ten say they own a handgun or pistol (72%), while 62% own a rifle and 54% own a shotgun. Among those who own a single gun, most (62%) say that gun is a handgun or pistol, while far fewer say they own a rifle (22%) or a shotgun (16%).

it’s neat because you can clearly see the mismatch between the thermal equator and geographic equator. if it was broken down by month you could probably see the inter tropical convergence zone and Hadley cells drift too

That would indicate that the plot is wrong - either that line should’ve been cut short or many others should’ve continued far north.

Apparently the main reason for the lack of storms in the South Atlantic (and eastern South Pacific) is the increased wind shear. I have no idea what the mechanism is for increasing wind shear in those areas compared to the North Atlantic and western Pacific.
