A reminder that if you weren't planning to pick up a legendary starter kit because you already have the 4 choices or whatever, you can grab a kit, be halfway done crafting and you can sell the finished legendary if you wish.

Teapot put out a new Offensive Support tier list, and also a Healer/Defensive Support Tier list: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrZnG2R_2Js It'll be interesting to see what happens on Sept. 26th with the balance patch, I'm hoarding all my ascended gear/lootboxes and waiting to see what gets nerfed before making any big investments. Condi Scourge and Quickness Herald are almost guaranteed to be tuned down, maybe a handful of other builds. CMC is honestly terrible at class balance so don't be surprised if you favorite class gets kicked in the groin.

Old Boot posted:So, how does someone allergic to PvP/WvW type poo poo muddle through the WvW requirements for legendaries. you can either join a commander tag and follow them around (IIRC blue tag usually indicates the commander is running an open squad) or just run solo flipping camps and escorting/killing dolyaks at the risk of possibly getting ganked (which is an inconvenience but not a huge deal, you're still getting rewards for your time)

i checked to see if gift of battle was still only 500 badges, turns out it's only available as a reward track since 2016 lmao if you've been playing for a bit you probably have a bunch of boosters laying around from birthday gifts and other bullshit, use all of the different ones that mention "reward track" boosting and it should be done in like 2h. stick to a karma train commander (almost any tag where you can join the squad freely) and make sure you sit inside the circles when those towers/camps are getting flipped.

Don't forget things like the guild enhancement for reward track progress, and boosters you might have lying around from birthdays or whatever: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/WvW_Reward_Track#Reward_track_modifiers These all add up! WvW rewards are mostly time based, so as long as you're keeping participation up you're fine.

Yeah, with boosters you can complete the entire gift of battle track pretty quickly when running around with a commander.

I haven’t played this game since Heart of Thorns but I really want to get back into it and make a new character and I’m not sure what to make. I own the third expansion but never really played it and if I do stick with the game I’ll probably buy both of the new ones. I like hitting stuff with a hammer or bow and doing healing/support so I think I should probably roll a Guardian (which I’ve never played). I’ve played Ranger and Revenant in the past and kind of want to go a different direction. Any advice is appreciated. Are there any really great healing/support specs in the last 2-3 expansions that I should consider?

Guardian is a solid choice for support/healing. Scourge is also very, very good (plus gives you access to some exceptional DPS builds across all the Necro elites), although no hammer or bow. And Mech is still a solid choice for heal support, and can use hammer for an alac dps/dps build. However, Mech damage has fallen behind other professions quite a bit. Finally Spectre is a good for support and dps. Not so great for healing though. keep in mind things may change a bit after next week.

I’ll look into Scourge and compare. Appreciate the advice. I have tried Engineer once before but found it extremely complicated and would like to reduce the endless kit/stance switching to a minimum.

Good news, mechanist for engineer is the turn-your-brain-off mode and as both power and condi builds you can just slam your auto attacks and if you are feeling spicy press 2345 sometimes.

Absolutely mech is the Ultimate "It has been a LONG loving day at work my brain is mush please let me just sit back and watching the pretty colours for a bit" mode. Mind you minion necro can feel like that too sometimes, my reaper with minions is nigh unkillable and only requires somewhat more thought to keep going. If I'm awake enough I get back on my ele mains because I love suffering.
