op, have you considered sealing up your walls so the mouse has a humane place to live it’s mousy little life? they don’t live too long and if you use caulk you won’t have to worry about the smell when it’s all over

I didn't want to murder it with a trap because I did that one time and it didn't kill the mouse and the mouse just bled all over my kitchen. I didn't want to use poison because I didn't want it.to stink. Imma capture and release.

we got one in the attic once and trapped and released it our cats went absolutely ape when we brought the trap down from the crawl space into the house. it made little chirp and squeak sounds as it moved around and was cute, and the cats swarmed below like sharks with huge eyes and their full attention absorbed on what was in the cage
