The director of Loki confirms that none of Jonathan Majors' scenes were cut or edited for the show. He will appear in at least 3 of the episodes as "Victor Timely" and make a reappearance as "He Who Remains" (likely as a flashback or scene showing what happened with him and Sylvie right after she stabbed him) and possibly other Kang variants.

Also, some minor info on Ke Huy Quan's role. His name is "OB" and he is in charge of all the technology and computers at the TVA. His main role will be helping Mobius and Loki unravel several mysteries regarding Loki's current condition and changes at the TVA.

You're definitely right and I wouldn't expect any new D+ series announced anytime soon.

Disney's most recent financial statement and business plan basically said they are:

- Spending $60 billion on theme parks and cruises over the next 10 years.
- Looking into getting rid of broadcast TV (ABC specifically, and potentially spinning off ESPN into its own company)
- Still losing lots of money on streaming.

So, they are most likely going to cut costs on streaming by slowing down releases, spreading out what they already have in the can, and being very selective on what they greenlight for exclusive Disney+ content (unless it is very cheap).

Apparently, they want to focus on theme parks, cruises, and movies.

And they want to ditch expensive streaming content, the Metaverse (they had previously pledged to spend $10 billion on metaverse content under the previous CEO, lmao), and (non-sports) broadcast TV.

That's what they get for going woke :smug:

There’s no gambling on Disney boats because, y’know, kids. The most you’re going to get is bingo night. Gotta do that on shore if you dock somewhere not run by the mouse that has a casino.

Unless you count Marvel SNAP or whatever the current mobile gatcha game is as gambling. And Disney is fine if the kids gamble that way!

If the most embarrassing part of someone's life is enjoying a Disney theme park, then these days they're doing pretty drat well given the state of the world. I enjoy the parks every few years, can take my niece around and enjoy myself at the same time. A Disney Cruise isn't something that desperately appeals to me but if it makes someone happy then that's cool for them.

As others have noted, the very extreme end of it gets exceedingly obnoxious, but that's true of pretty much anything people like. YouTube and social media have just provided those people with way more exposure and they can feed off of each other very easily.

I don't have a horse in the race even slightly with regards to Disney parks, but the hate adults get for occasionally letting their inner child out to play is 1000% a byproduct of American capitalism. Grow up, stop enjoying things, and be a productive worker at all times.

If they're not loving up the kids' good time, what the hell is the problem?

I feel this way 100%. "It's childish to indulge anything impractical, so act like an adult and stop enjoying anything frivolous." gently caress that. Disneyland is another variety of unmoored capitalism run amok, but at least it's fun. I'm not going to stop going because some joyless rear end in a top hat has decided that "adulthood" is synonymous with purely functional grind culture bootlicking. I have a job and pay my rent and file my taxes and I'm still going to die some day. Maybe I wanna drink some overpriced beers and go on Soarin' or Pirates a couple times because they kick rear end.

I feel like y'all haven't met weirdo Disney Adults if you think all they're doing is going to the parks to blow off some steam as a vacation. The truly weirdo Disney Adults go the parks once a year at minimum, and their entire lives revolve around it. The lady I worked with had her entire desk covered in Donald Duck merch, and brow beat her daughter into having a Disney themed wedding. No conversation would go by without the lady mentioning Donald or Disney.

No, I've met those people. They have Club 33 tattoos, propose to their spouses there, often wear park merch and poodle skirts and poo poo in daily life, etc. There are a ton in southern CA, and they're for sure very overbearing.

But what started this tangent was someone asserting the cash-cow-ness of Disney Parks was just Disney Adults. Which...yeah, they drop a lot of cash per capita, but most people just like churros and Thunder Mountain and what-not. The weirdos who do Disney-themed gender reveal parties are simply a very visible minority in the overall number.

ShowTime
Mar 28, 2005
Yea I know that couple. They are nice people and are fanatical about Disney. One more Star Wars than the other. But you guessed it: the proposal was there, ALL of the gender reveals were there, they go once a year (at least) and all of their kids are named after Disney characters. Their posters are autographed by the actors, they go to conventions to get them signed whenever they can and are behind really protective frames.

They are the sweetest couple though. And there are way worse things to be fanatical about.

And the the completely signed posters (well, apart from dead people) of the original Star Wars trilogy, including the really, really hard ones to get, are pretty drat dope to look at.

Everyone agrees replacing your personality with a product is terrible but that's not the attitude being objected to

It's someone saying THING IS FOR BABIES WHILE I'M VERY MATURE UNLIKE YOU which is honestly probably worse than an obnoxious but ultimately harmless superfan because at least those people mostly are just enjoying life

I was still keeping tabs on new projects and release dates up until secret invasion. Reasonable or not, it really diminished my enthusiasm (or perhaps faith) for the MCU. Went in expecting Andor and got Kenobi. I haven't loved it all, I've been underwhelmed or even dissapointed before. But the fact that they released secret invasion like that.. it made me feel like a sucker and I'm having a real "fool me once" reaction still.

That being said, GF absolutely loves Loki (as a dime store Thor I resent this!) so I'm sure we'll be tuning in for that at least. Maybe they'll win me back, I liked season one a lot!

It is, it's just super efficient.
