What's a good place to get decent prescription glasses in Australia? Like Warby Parker with at home try on, but not 7500 miles away.

Specsavers have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, if for whatever reason your new glasses aren't working out for you, just take them back and they'll give you a refund.

yeah specsavers are good. the wife gets hers from oscar wylee bc they typically have more fashionable frames but ive never had any trouble finding ones that look good on me covered by my private health extras at specsavers

I've found the specsavers lenses to be utter shite. Made me nauseous when moving around or looking anywhere other than straight ahead. It was way better getting a set of good ones from OPSM that actually work well and last for years than getting some crappy ones for free every year. But ymmv I guess.

I've found that my glasses and the curved tubes at the aquarium dont work well together and give me headaches but that also might be because im tall E: last year when i was looking at getting new frames OPSM wanted something like 300 bucks for the one frame I ended up going with specsavers and got normal glasses and sunnies for like 280 Airstream Driver posted:Where are you bugging out to? Specsavers hosed up my pupiliary distance and height on a new set of glasses once, but they had new lenses cut for me as a priority. Came up great after that. Guessing that's why you were feeling nauseous. Correct script, just not centred.

Life pro tip: you can drink anything from a coffee mug - you don't need a cupboard full of other glasses for water, juice, wine, etc.

Wine should only be drunk from the finest receptacle, like a goon bag or plastic cup

lol if you drink your 25 dollar vermintino out of plastic like a poor person instead of a limited edition glass pint tumbler from the cinema advance screening of detective pikachu

The optometrist at specsavers hosed up my script and I didn't realise it for two years, just that I got less out of my glasses, and then the next time at a different one the new optometrist was like 'well that's wrong'. But I'm not sure how much that has to do with specsavers themselves? I think the optometrists are semi-independent of them, they just host? (The first one gave me two slightly shortsighted lenses (as well as the astigmatism correction) and then the next guy was like 'well you have one moderately shortsighted eye and one not at all) MikeJF fucked around with this message at 07:13 on Sep 21, 2023 |

I'm on a tour of from and made it to Adelaide this week, and this was an excellent recommendation. Plus they were actually open after 6pm on a weekday, which was way less common than I'm used to in North America. Next week is Canberra, which I'm told is a boring government town. Which is fine by me because I've always lived in boring government towns Then we're headed to Melbourne for PAX Aus, should be a good time if it's anything like PAX East

We have SO MUCH good food here, even out in the suburbs. Your most important culinary pit-stop, in Melbourne however, is Pidapipo for the best gelato you'll ever have (small laneway near Flinders St Station). Also it is your obligation while here in Australia to have an HSP at least once at some point, so get on with that already! And, yes; PAX-AUS is generally pretty great.

The Australian war memorial is like a museum, lots of military stuff to look at but obviously focused specifically on Australia's perspective and imperialist endeavors. National museum of Australia is educational, maybe better for kids but if you have nothing else to do...

I never got to do the hallowed rite of passage of the snow/Canberra school trip thanks to a teacher's strike. But when my younger brother got to go on the snow trip with his school year, one of his friends snowboarded into a tree and died on their first day there
