Can’t hate that adorable little guy. Edit: saw a Lucid Air on the road in Irving, TX this week. I’ve seen another in the same spot before so probably actually the same one. Also saw an R1S on, I believe it was Wednesday, on Highway 360 heading to Grapevine, if you know where that is. Took me a minute to figure out either of those. Thankfully both have their brand names writ large on their respective butts. Darchangel fucked around with this message at 02:01 on Sep 23, 2023 |

While it's admirable they've kept weird doors (even though they look butterfly rather than gullwing) what does this DO besides be an ugly ugly badly designed manifestation of stick on vents? Going for hexagons but other than that it doesn't have a cohesive design.

I don’t hate that simply because it looks like there’s still at least one person in the world who remembers 90s design, even if they don’t know how to execute it tastefully.

Ideally, I just want an aux input and a little LCD or 7 segment display for whatever minimal amount of media info needs to be communicated. Since everything has a screen in it now might as well have android auto since that's mildly more convenient than a phone holder on the dash. Infotainment systems aren't going to significantly affect my purchasing decisions regardless. I just want the absolute minimum amount of poo poo that can break. Power locks, power windows, power steering, ABS, HVAC, stereo with aux jack. I think that's all the 'features' I care about? Galler fucked around with this message at 19:10 on Sep 25, 2023 |

Ford's Synch poo poo is all over the place. GM is just... GM. Tesla is, um... You know how well FSD works? Yeah. No thanks. Never mind I'd prefer not to have to log into yet another service provider, PARTICULARLY auto manufacturers, who treat security as an afterthought at best, a joke more commonly. On the plus side, there are CarPlay add-ons with display that just plug into the aux input for older and newer vehicles where one doesn't want to or can't change the head unit. Also, I've grown to like heated seats, and ventilated ones would be nice, too.

I have two cars right now that are new. A basic 2023 Escape provided by my employer and a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon with all the features and it's a stark difference in enjoyment. The drivers seat in the Escape has a seam under my right cheek that makes the seat so drat uncomfortable I had to get a pad, and the pedal response sucks, and the braking is stiff. It's a challenging car to drive smooth. The Tuscon is nice and soft and smooth and quiet and everything you'd want. Gimme all the features now.
