I'm thinking of the time that someone was walking by the freeway and how it ended with 9 rifle-armed cops surrounding him and shooting him 12 times.

Partial body camera footage released by MNPD showed a helicopter circling, multiple people shouting commands at Eastep and officers surrounding him on three sides with weapons drawn, with the guardrail behind him.

Punishing with safety gear bcs of rated speed is carbrained as gently caress.

Differences in speed should be treated with differences in lane/path/etc

safety harnesses actually loving suck and it isnt surprising that despite preventing *checks notes* paralysis and death, people have to be coerced into wearing them at all times. meanwhile helmets and seatbelts are sub-mild inconveniences that protect against impacts which are far, far more likely than falls on a job site and people still throw fits over them

Yeah, actually, gamers in the house forever,
the fact that it is even possible to conceive of a "nanny state" means that people are making decisions that they know are 100% wrong for themselves and is incontrovertible justification of its existence. res ipsa loquitur

wearing a hard hat sucks but having a bolt or whatever fall from 60’+ up and pass cleanly through my skull sounds like it would suck more, I genuinely don’t know why so many people in my industry don’t look at it that way

on the one hand the way we handle drunk driving is, from a human rights (yuck) and even a rule of law (YUCK) perspective actually kind of hosed up. but we all accept it. reagans america embraced it. but the real reason is because sober driving is unacceptably unsafe so while we cant admit that we can throw out presumption of innocence for some driving offenses
