The Canadian speaker of parliament literally resigned in disgrace over the ovation the literal nazi received, and Poland has demanded his extradition to be tried for war crimes lol. Liberals do not need to defend a literal Vladislav the Jew Slayer.

Josef bugman posted:Also, what is a "business analyst" because when I am looking at job roles the term keeps coming up but it seems to just include secretarial things? It's a very broad title, could be anything from capacity / workforce planning, mi work, project management support. You'll need to be confident with spreadsheets probably and pretending you know what you're doing. You'll be looking at data, making tables and projections, stuff like that. Like the role actually varies wildly, as does salaries. It really depends on what sector you are in. Call centres for example will have analysts managing staff/service levels, other businesses will be more financial analysis. It's a bit of a job that you tend to fall into accidentally, but everyone tends to rely on them. keep punching joe fucked around with this message at 11:50 on Sep 27, 2023 |

Josef bugman posted:I would do this, but my (hopefully soon to be) Mrs cannot really deal with frozen and defrosted food. Autism and sensory issues, that kind of thing. Not being able to eat anything that's been frozen is a shame. Its one of the easiest tips. If you have any debt then deal with that first, but that's more a topic for the UK finances thread. For general money saving I really recommend sitting down with your Mrs and writing out everything you regularly spend money on in a month, subscriptions in particular. And then looking at each in turn. Got a dog or cat, look to see if a different brand is cheaper (price per weight is important here) Mobile phone costing above £10? There are lots of sub £10 SIM only deals that offer unlimited minutes, texts and 4Gb+ which is more than 99% if people need. Have 2 cars? Could you feasibly go down to 1? Amazon prime? Cancel it. Do you actually need a TV licence? Etc Learn to cook good vegetarian food. Vegetarian curries with stuff like lentils etc taste great and cost a few £ a serving. They are good for a few days in the fridge too (as you can't freeze). Adding meat effectively doubles the cost. Try and reduce food waste, plan meals and stick to the plan. Feeling lazy and don't want to cook! Have emergency back up meals instead of ordering in. That could be a simple frozen battered fish with some frozen chips or if you can't do frozen then a pasta bake jar for example. Simple as heck meal that requires just throwing it in an oven proof dish and into the oven and grating some cheese and costs less than £2. The pasta bake jars last month's too. Tinned foods are also great, look out for large purchase deals as they often keep for years so stocking isn't a problem. find out where the free water bottle refills are, most towns have one. My wife buys these little flavour cubes you add to water. Means getting a drink while in town costs 10p instead of £1.20. Want to eat out? Lots of the restaurant chains will send you discount codes if you sign up for newsletters, then just have Gmail auto archive them to a folder so you don't see them. On date night, go into the folder and see if anything takes your fancy. Deliveroo/justeat is always more expensive than going to the restaurant, not only do you pay delivery and a subcharge, but most of the dishes are marked up also. A lot of these things (except the cars) will probably only save you a few quid each but all together it adds up.

If you can bike commute, then a new bike probably costs less than an annual travel card. I spent my poverty years just cutting around town on a rusty old beater which saved me about £50 p/m on busses/trains. You do have to deal with being cold and wet a lot of the time. Make a weekly budget and stick to it ruthlessly though (include some discretionary spend for fun stuff if you can). If you are in debt or overdraft then getting rid of that is a priority, and it's a real weight off your mind when you actually end the month +£20 rather than -£300. There's a finance thread somewhere that probably has better tips, accounts, tools for helping you. Vegitarianism is also a lot cheaper as long as you are cooking from scratch rather than eating processed meat substitutes, and it will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days. edit: lol Starmer's hosed it quote:Westminster Voting Intention (Scotland): keep punching joe fucked around with this message at 12:14 on Sep 27, 2023 |

Might be able to work from home if possible, we've only got one car and no debt style debt, just credit cards which we pay off each month. It's more that might just be going down to one income for a little while and I'd like to have some wiggle room. Also if there is any way to swap round and do gains from gym without meat I'd love to hear it!

Whey is pretty much the cheapest protein per gram (and per calorie) you can get, even still despite it doubling in price since the pandemic. Much like Domino's pizza you should only ever buy it when it's half off

It's very funny seeing the SNP remain significantly far ahead after a summer of "SNP ELECTORAL MELTDOWN" over a couple of polls where they were slipped 5 points (but were still about 10% ahead of Labour). Is it just a lack of understanding of Scottish politics by English reporters, not getting that different regions have different politics, or is it just rabid unionist journalists that are behind these headlines?

Unfortunately healthier does not equal cheaper. Seconding buying storable food in bulk; packet, tinned or bottled foods/veg were something i needed as i don't have a freezer. Never ignore condiments, herbs and spices as they can put some life into that lentil casserole i've been living on the whole week.

Partly due to unpopularity of the SNP due to some stuff covid response, trans bill, nicola being arrested. Mainly though the media narritive had been based on the hopes and prayers of Labour, UK press. The poll that probably matters more is the 48-52 percent of voters who have fully given up on the union. They might not like the SNP but they aren't really going anywhere else right now. keep punching joe fucked around with this message at 12:59 on Sep 27, 2023 |
