Btw, there has been a lot of talk about how the Ukrainians just need to cut Russian supply lines and they're toast, it seems like the Russians have already completed bypass rail line away from the frontline to at least Mariupol. I imagine if Tokmak was never taken they would keep on extending it down the coast. The Ukrainians would have to force their way all the way down there to Melitopol to completely sever Russian lines.

At this point, the Russians are just standing back and hitting targets across the country, they know the Ukrainians ran out of steam weeks ago, and pretty much can't really do much out of beyond putting on a show every 1-2 weeks. That said, any big Russian offensive may be happening in 2024 just based on MoD statements and the timing of their recruitment.

Speaking of Nazi resistance stuff, the newer Wolfenstein games are pretty silly. There's one where the protagonist is lambasting this anarchist guy (who rails against the evils of pre-Nazi America as his explanation for not fighting in WW2) for the Bolsheviks/socialists not taking up arms against the Nazis, and it was just very silly. The anarchist guy is also portrayed as good (since he's fighting the Nazis now), but it seems pretty clear that you're supposed to think the protagonist has a point. There's just this whole set of media framing Americans (or Western Europeans) as being the face of "badass Nazi-killers," which includes things like Inglorious Basterds. Most people, including leftists, seem to think this stuff is good because "killing Nazis, gently caress yeah!", but it's just complete bullshit that paints this completely wrong picture of what America actually represented in the context of "fighting the Nazis."
